Contemporary terrorism is perceived as a threat that appears on a local, regional and world scale. Nonetheless, is difficult to define it in a precise and objective way. In spite of differences in evaluation of the essence of this phenomenon, international organisations and states undertake more or less radical moves in order to eradicate it or at least limit it. Strategies pertained in a global dimension concentrate on eliminating causes of terrorism, limiting conditions which favour its emergence. Regional and national strategies, however, are more focused on direct prevention of the acts of terror and fighting terrorist structures.
