The paper presents a concise and thorough insight into the problem of overcoming potential Russian anti-access/area denial (A2/AD) operations, which may pose a major threat to Poland’s security. The geopolitical situation in the region is seriously determined by the Kremlin’s Foreign policy, which is aimed at restoring Russian dominance over its neighbouring countries and disrupting political and military cohesion of NATO. Against this background it seems essential for Poland to develop its modern Armed Forces, which being based on the Land Forces and the Territorial Defence Forces, could be effectively employed against potential military threats.

Jednym z podstawowych parametrów taktyczno-technicznych okrętów, określającym zdolność do wykonywania zadań na morzu jest autonomiczność. Autonomiczność, określana na poziomie projektowania okrętu, uzależniona jest od szeregu uwarunkowań technicznych. Podstawowe czynniki określające autonomiczność okrętu w istotny sposób związane są z organizacją zabezpieczenia logistycznego jednostki pływającej. Należą do nich takie parametry techniczne jak pojemności zbiorników paliwowych, zbiorników wody słodkiej, magazynów okrętowych oraz typ głównych urządzeń napędowych okrętu. Czynniki te obejmują również możliwość prawidłowej eksploatacji urządzeń okrętowych oraz stan psychofizyczny załogi. Sama autonomiczność natomiast określa niezwykle istotne z punktu widzenia taktycznych możliwości okrętu wielkości, jakimi są zasięg pływania i taktyczny promień działania okrętu.

Endurance is one of basic parameters of ship’s operational characteristics, determining technical ability to perform tasks at sea. The endurance, which is determined at the design period of the ship, depends on a number of technical reasons. Fundamental factors determining endurance are significantly associated with the organisation of logistical support of the ship. These include technical parameters such as volume of fuel tanks, freshwater tanks, marine stores and type of main propulsion machinery of the ship. These factors include the possibility of correct exploitation of a ship’s equipment and mechanisms and psychophysical condition of the crew too. The endurance defines very important operational characteristics of the ship’s maximum range and tactical radius of action.
