The paper contains the results of experimental investigation of hydrodynamic characteristic and heat - mass transfer coefficients performed for classical and modified spray columns. The constructional modifications were intended to improve the conditions of atomisation, drag reduction and enhancement of aeration process in the both, Newtonian and high-molecular polymer aqueous solutions. It has been shown that the efficiency of proposed modified constructions increased with the increase of gas volume rate and with the decrease of two-phase flow number values.
