Fabrication of steel structures in accordance with the requirements of the new ZTV-ING regulations – selected issues

The fabrication of steel structures imposes on the manufacturer obligations to comply with requirements of appropriate standards and regulations. This article discusses examples of German market requirements applying to the fabrication of civil engineering structures (made of steel) in accordance with the German ZTV-ING regulations. In addition, the article provides examples of requirements concerning materials, design, welded joints, fabrication and acceptance documentation of steel structures described in ZTV-ING Part 4, Chapter 1. The article also discusses requirements concerning the corrosion protection of structures described in Chapter 3. Particular attention is paid to the necessity of meeting requirements concerning the competence of personnel involved in the fabrication of structures and the corrosion protection of the latter. Because of the fact that many Polish manufacturers fabricate civil engineering structures for the German market, the knowledge of the new issue of the ZTV-ING regulations (2022) is essential.

Wytwarzanie stalowych konstrukcji budowlanych narzuca na wytwórcę konieczność spełnienia wymagań zawartych w przedmiotowych normach i przepisach. W artykule przedstawiono przykłady wymagań rynku niemieckiego dla wytwarzania konstrukcji stalowych drogowych obiektów inżynierskich wg niemieckiego przepisu ZTV-ING. Przedstawiono przykłady wymagań w zakresie stosowanych materiałów, projektowania, połączeń spawanych, wytwarzania i dokumentacji odbiorowej konstrukcji stalowych opisanych w ZTV-ING część 4., rozdział 1. oraz wymagań w zakresie zabezpieczenia antykorozyjnego konstrukcji, opisanych w rozdziale 3. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na konieczność spełnienia wymagań w zakresie kompetencji personelu zaangażowanego w proces wytwarzania konstrukcji i jej zabezpieczenia antykorozyjnego. Ze względu na to, że wielu polskich wytwórców wytwarza konstrukcje drogowych obiektów inżynierskich na rynek niemiecki, wymaganie znajomości nowego wydania przepisu ZTV-ING jest niezmiernie ważne.

Beton monolityczny jest dzisiaj najbardziej rozpowszechnionym materiałem, z którego wykonuje się konstrukcje budowlane. W 2012 r. w Europie wytworzono go w ilości ponad 296 mln m³, z czego na Polskę przypada ok. 6,6%. Spośród wszystkich produktów masowych tylko dostawy wody przekraczają ten poziom.

Nowadays monolithical concrete is the most common material used for the construction of civil engineering structures. In 2012, over 296 mln m³ of monolithical concrete were manufactured, about 6,6% of this amount in Poland. Of all mass products only the supplies of water exceed this level.

W artykule przedstawiono aktualne problemy ochrony obiektów budowlanych, a szczególnie budynków na terenach górniczych. Problemy te wynikają przede wszystkim z potrzeby większej niż dotychczas ich ochrony z uwagi na rosnące wymagania użytkowników powierzchni. Istotnym elementem jest tu także potrzeba stosowania ze względów ekonomicznych większej niż dotychczas prędkości prowadzenia eksploatacji. Zaproponowano kryterialne parametry możliwej do przyjecia uciążliwości użytkowania budynków na terenach górniczych. Parametry te nie powinny być przekroczone. Ich ewentualne przekroczenie mogłoby mieć miejsce po uzgodnieniu tego z przedstawicielem użytkowników budynków. Przedstawiono sposoby przybliżonej oceny szkodliwości dla obiektów budowlanych przy zwiększonej prędkości eksploatacji.

In the article there are presented current problems of protection of civil engineering structures especially buildings, in mining areas. Those problem arise, first of all from the need of protection greather than hitherto required in view of the growing requirements of the lnd surface users. The essential point here is the need of applying for economic considerations, a higher advance rate in mining operationt han that so fair maintained. Proposed have been criterial parameters of the acceptable burden of usage of buildings in mining areas. The said parmeters must not be auprassed. Any possible surpassing might take place only upon agreement with the owners of the buildings. Presented are the methods of an approximate assessment of harmfulness of an increased mining operation advance rate for the civil engineering structures.
