Transport Mobility of Urban Inhabitants in the Light of Research Findings

The article presents the nature of the indicator of transport mobility of urban inhabitants, as highlighting possible measurements. Particular examples present the procedure in which it can be determined as part of other research. The level of the indicator evaluated in the chosen Polish and European cities was compared. Additionally, an analysis of the factors influencing the changes in the levels of transport mobility was also carried out basing on the data obtained in the research concerning transport behaviours of the residents of the city of Gdynia (carried out in the households between the years 2008-2013).

W artykule przedstawiono istotę wskaźnika ruchliwości komunikacyjnej mieszkańców miast. Wskazano jego możliwe do stosowania miary. Na konkretnych przykładach scharakteryzowano też procedurę jego ustalania w ramach różnych badań. Porównano poziom tego wskaźnika w miastach wybranych krajów europejskich i w Polsce. Przeprowadzono także analizę czynników wpływających na zmiany poziomu ruchliwości komunikacyjnej, opierając się na wynikach badań zachowań transportowych mieszkańców Gdyni przeprowadzonych w gospodarstwach domowych w latach 2008-2013.

The present study covers issues of the modelling of the sustainable urban transport system in relation to an analysis presented of the transport behaviour of the dwellers of Polish cities. The analysis was conducted taking into consideration the relation of city travels that are realized by city dwellers on weekdays (Monday through Friday) as well as on Saturdays and Sundays. The results presented of the investigations into the transport behaviour of city dwellers are related to the group of those people (i.e. drivers) who travel in passenger cars (not on business) at least five times in a week. The following criteria were taken into account: the type of the means of transport as well as the distance covered while travelling in a city.

W pracy zaprezentowano problematykę modelowania zrównoważonego systemu transportowego w miastach w odniesieniu do zaprezentowanej analizy zachowań transportowych mieszkańców polskich miast. Analiza została przeprowadzona w odniesieniu do relacji podróży miejskich realizowanych przez mieszkańców miast w dni powszednie (od poniedziałku do piątku) oraz w soboty i niedziele. Zaprezentowane wyniki badań zachowań transportowych mieszkańców miast odnoszą się do grupy osób (kierowców) wykonujących przynajmniej pięć podróży samochodem osobowym (nie służbowo) w ciągu tygodnia. Uwzględniono kryteria: rodzaj środka transportu oraz dystans podróży miejskich.
