Znaczenie roweru jako środka umożliwiającego przemieszczanie się, zwłaszcza w obszarach zurbanizowanych, rośnie. Trudne czasy pandemii i potrzeby zachowania dystansu społecznego jeszcze mocniej pokazują, że rower doskonale ułatwia nie tylko pokonywanie odległości, ale również dbanie o własne zdrowie i sprawność fizyczną. Nie zawsze musi to być rower własny. W wielu sytuacjach taką rolę skutecznie spełnia rower wypożyczony w miejskiej wypożyczalni. Celem artykułu jest analiza funkcjonowania wypożyczalni rowerów miejskich Wavelo w Krakowie w latach 2017–2019 oraz prezentacja ocen poziomu preferencji i satysfakcji użytkowników tego systemu uzyskanych podczas badania marketingowego. W artykule opisano historię roweru miejskiego w Polsce i w Krakowie, wymieniono wady oraz zalety systemu. Na podstawie danych z badania marketingowego scharakteryzowano użytkowników wypożyczalni rowerów miejskich Wavelo oraz przedstawiono ocenę działania systemu i wybranych jego cech widzianą oczami jego użytkowników. Ankietowani dokonali również wyboru preferencji poszczególnych cech systemu. Na podstawie danych z systemu Wavelo przedstawiono informacje o liczbie wypożyczeń i o sprawności rowerów w kolejnych latach funkcjonowania wypożyczalni. Wszystkie analizy porównano z wynikami podobnych badań przeprowadzonych w 2017 roku, czyli po roku od uruchomienia systemu przez operatora BikeU. Niestety, od początku 2020 roku mieszkańcy Krakowa nie mogą już korzystać z wypożyczalni, gdyż zakończyła swoją działalność.

The importance of the bicycle as a means of mobility, especially in urban areas, is growing. Difficult times of pandemics and the need to maintain social distance show even more strongly that the bicycle makes it easy not only to travel distances, but also to maintain one’s own health and fitness. It does not always have to be own bicycle. In many situations such a function is effectively performed by a bicycle rented in a city rental. The aim of the article is to analyze the functioning of Wavelo city bike rental in Krakow in 2017–2019 and to present the assessment of the level of preferences and satisfaction of the users of this system obtained during the marketing survey. The article describes the history of the city bicycle in Poland and in Krakow, lists the pros and cons of the system. On the basis of the data from the marketing research, the users of Wavelo city bicycle rental have been presented and the evaluation of the system’s operation and selected features seen through the eyes of its users has been presented. The respondents also chose the preferences of particular features of the system. On the basis of the data from the Wavelo system, information about the number of rentals and the efficiency of the bikes in the following years of the rental company’s operation was presented. All analyses have been compared with the results of similar research conducted in 2017, i.e. one year after the system was launched by the BikeU operator. Unfortunately, since the beginning of 2020, residents of Krakow can no longer use the rental system, because it has closed its operation.

W zatłoczonych i zakorkowanych miastach coraz większą popularność zyskuje przemieszczanie rowerami. Pozwala omijać stojące w długich korkach pojazdy, przejeżdżać trasami „na skróty” niedostępnymi dla pojazdów mechanicznych, a jednocześnie sprzyja poprawianiu czy utrzymaniu dobrej kondycji fizycznej. Wypożyczalnie rowerów miejskich wychodzą naprzeciw tym, którzy nie posiadają własnego roweru. Pozwalają wypożyczyć rower na pewien czas konieczny do przejechania pewnego odcinka drogi do miejsca docelowego i pozostawienie go bez konieczności wykonania podróży powrotnej. Od momentu wdrożenia pierwszej koncepcji roweru miejskiego w latach sześćdziesiątych XX wieku systemy miejskich wypożyczalni, wychodząc naprzeciw potrzebom ich użytkowników, są coraz bardziej rozwijane i unowocześniane. W artykule przedstawiono zasady funkcjonowania wypożyczalni miejskich rowerów czwartej generacji (4G) w Krakowie oraz ocenę działania systemu na podstawie badań marketingowych wśród użytkowników tego systemu. Porównano również wyniki funkcjonowania obecnego systemu wypożyczalni (Wavelo) i poprzedniego (KMK Bike).

In overcrowded and suffered from congestion cities, cycling is gaining more and more popularity. It allows everybody to avoid waiting in vehicles in long jams, pass shortcuts not available for motor vehicles, and at the same time it helps to improve or maintain good physical condition. City bikes rental systems are devoted for those who do not have their own bike. They allow you to rent a bicycle for a certain period of time necessary to travel, approach to the destination and leave it without having to make a return trip. Since the implementation of the first concept of a city bike in the 1960s urban rental systems, meeting the needs of their users, are more and more developed and modernized. The article presents the principles of the operation of the fourth generation (4G) city bike rental in Krakow and the assessment of the system's operation based on marketing research among the users of this system. The results of the current rental system (Wavelo) and the previous one (KMK Bike) have also been compared.
