Water heat flux (W) plays important role in heat balance of small water body in agricultural landscape. The density of this flux is dependent on radiation conditions observed over the water. The changes of water temperature in pond were measured for calculation of W. Simultaneously the observations of global (Rs↓) and net radiation (Rn) were made with radiation balance meter CNR1 (produced by Kipp&Zonen). All measurements were conducted for the period from July 24th through August 11th 1998 over fish pond in Szoldry village. There were developed two formulas for estimation of hourly values water heat flux density (W). The first one is basis on global radiation heat flux density (Rs↓) observations, the second one using of net radiation values (Rn). Both formulas provide relatively well estimation of hourly W values. The average absolute errors of estimation in both cases are about 70 W·m-2. Global radiation observations are relatively easy to obtain and this is a reason of advantage of formula that basis on Rs↓ values. The Access to Rn of water body observations is limited and this is the main reason of limitation the second formula but there is one advantage of second equation - it can be used for assessment of W at night.
