Research on the influence of geometric parameters of body bottom elements on the stress-strain state (SSS) of the truck with the general application of computer simulation methods was conducted. The nature of the change in static stress and displacement depending on the change in the proportions of the crosssection of the channel at fixed geometric dimensions of the workpiece and the thickness of the workpiece and the bottom material of the body has been studied. Analytical, numerical and experimental methods were used in the study of the stress-strain state of the metal structure of car bodies. Its weight minimization is an important aspect of a truck body design. Because an excess weight leads to increased production costs, reduced payload and reduced fuel efficiency. According to the concept of weight reduction with the provision of a given strength, the body model with variable parameters of the bottom elements is modelled and analyzed. CAD - body models and analysis of the stress-strain state of the channels of the bottom of the bodies have been performed using the software package SolidWorks.

The aim of the article was to analyse distribution logistics on the example of a selected meat processing plant, as well as to assess existing distribution channels according to the criteria determining the usability, efficiency and nature of the channel. Based on the research and analysis (analytical and point method), the distribution channels operating in this company were characterised and evaluated. Based on the results, one can determine which of the existing channels is the best and present the directions for their further development.

Nowadays, the gradually worsening working life and living conditions of Turkey are channeling consumers towards simple and pointless purchasing experiences. Therefore, the omni-channel strategy, which presents a continuous purchasing experience to consumers and provides full integration of different channels (physical store, online store, mobile application, social media etc.), appears to be a significant factor. At this point, it can be clearly and explicitly seen that the omni-channel strategy must be used during the transmission of clothing products, which are essential for living, to consumers. In this context, this study aims to analyse the omni-channel strategies of the Turkish clothing sector, which is a significant player of the global clothing market. In accordance with the aim of the research, omni-channel strategies of successful Turkish clothing enterprises, which possess their own brands and retail chains, are analysed. According to the results obtained, Turkish clothing enterprises have not been able to provide a full integration of their current channels at this time. However, they have actualised successful implementations with regard to channel integration and continue to work on this issue.

Strategia wielokanałowa, która zapewnia konsumentom ciągłe doświadczenie zakupowe i zapewnia pełną integrację różnych kanałów (fizyczny sklep, sklep internetowy, aplikacja mobilna, media społecznościowe itp.) jest istotnym czynnikiem tureckiego sektora odzieżowego. Należy podkreślić, że strategia wielokanałowa musi być wykorzystywana podczas przekazywania konsumentom produktów odzieżowych. W tym kontekście badanie miało na celu analizę strategii tureckiego sektora odzieżowego, który jest znaczącym graczem na światowym rynku odzieżowym. Zgodnie z celem badań analizowane były wielokanałowe strategie odnoszących sukcesy tureckich przedsiębiorstw odzieżowych, które posiadają własne marki i sieci handlowe. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników stwierdzono, że tureckie przedsiębiorstwa odzieżowe nie były w tym czasie w stanie zapewnić pełnej integracji swoich obecnych kanałów. Jednakże w przedsiębiorstwach dokonano udanych wdrożeń w zakresie integracji kanałów i nadal kontynuowane są prace nad tym zagadnieniem.

A mathematical model is developed to investigate the electromagnetic induction heating in a continuous casting tundish with the double-loop inductor. Maxwell’s equations are solved using finite element method to obtain the magnetic flux density, electromagnetic force, and Joule heating. Results show that the induced current through the two channels generates a current loop. The electromagnetic force points to the center of the channel, thus generating a pinch effect on the molten steel. With the skin effect and proximity effect, Joule heating rate reaches its maximum and minimum values at the corners and the center of the crosssection area respectively. Power ampere-turn has a significant influence on the electromagnetic force and Joule heating density. As ampere-turns vary from 3.6×104 to 2.16×105, Joule heating rate increases from 2.4 MW m-3 to 85 MW m-3. Electromagnetic force also increases from 8×104 N m-3 to 3×106 N m-3 in the center axis line of the channel. The present work reveals the relationship between magnetic flux density and electromagnetic force. The results will be helpful in adjusting the electromagnetic field in channel-induction furnaces and modifying the design of channel parameters.

Selection of distribution channel type is an important decision of every manufacturing company and also for production engineering. Appropriate choice of distribution channel can save considerable costs while maintaining a high level of customer service. Determination of an appropriate strategy for the management of enterprise distribution channel. In this article, the selection of the type of distribution channel is proposed using ANP method to determine the strength of influence of input factors on the target set of potential options. Submitted model is very clear, understandable and according to the proposed methodology easy to implement, while also providing clear and understandable results during the selection of the type of distribution channel. The proposed model is primarily targeting for distribution of high-value stone which needs to decide which distribution strategy should be chosen or if to switch to another distribution strategy more suitable for the company needs.

3D seismic data and wireline logs from thirteen boreholes were used to establish a sequence stratigraphic analysis of Miocene depositional systems of the Otu Field in the onshore area of the Niger Delta. The subsurface facies of the field revealed three sequences that are bounded by four sequence boundaries (SBs) which are interpreted as erosional unconformities with three maximum flooding surfaces (MFSs). Sequences delineated are composed of lowstand systems tracts (LST), falling stage systems tracts (FSST), transgressive systems tracts (TST) and highstand systems tracts (HST) revealing depositional systems deposited during different phases of base level changes. Deposits identified within the LSTs are fluvial channel sands while TSTs capped the LST facies. HSTs are composed of coarsening and shallowing upwards intervals including deltaic fluvial sands. The sequences were deposited in transitional to shallow marine environments. A seismic geomorphological study carried out on all the SBs and MFS 3 shows a relationship between depositional environments, channel type and direction of palaeo-flow in relation to faults. The reservoirs of the LST and HST and seals from marine shale of the TST and HST could form stratigraphic traps for hydrocarbon accumulation in the Otu Field. This study has integrated 3D seismic and borehole log data to develop a sequence stratigraphic framework that would be a profitable means to guide hydrocarbon exploration and production strategies.

The behaviour of polymer solutions in highly confined geometries remains a subject of interest in rheology and fluid dynamics. In this paper, we investigate how well the classical hydrodynamic description based on the Navier-Stokes equations, Fourier’s Law and Fick’s Law describes the flow of a highly confined polymer solution. In particular, we examine the effects of depletion of polymer concentration at the wall-fluid interface and strain rate coupling to the heat flux.We present data from molecular dynamics simulations of a model polymer solution in explicit solvent undergoing planar Poiseuille flow for channel widths ranging from around 10 solvent atomic diameters to around 80 solvent atomic diameters. We find that the classical continuum approach works very well for channels wider than 20 solvent atomic diameters. For narrower channels, we observe deviations in the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles due to density oscillations near the walls, the polymer depletion effect, and possible weak strain rate coupling. For the narrowest channel, the wall effects extend to the centre of the channel but the underlying profiles are quite well described by the classical continuum picture. By allowing very long times of order 104 reduced time units for relaxation to the steady state and averaging over very long runs of order 105 reduced time units and 16 independent ensemble members, we are able to conclude that previously reported deviations from the classical continuum predictions (I.K. Snook, P.J. Daivis, T. Kairn, J. Physics-Condensed Matter 20, 404211 (2008)) were probably the result of insufficient equilibration time. Our results are also sufficiently accurate and precise to verify the expected quartic temperature profile predicted by classical hydrodynamic theory, with only a very small deviation which we can attribute to nonlinear coupling of the heat flux vector to the strain rate.

The analysis of the mud-rock flow controlling facility operation enables to reveal regularities and, consequently, mechanisms providing passage of the given values of solid and liquid flow for different slopes of a channel and parameters of its cross section. To solve such problems it is assumed that if the mud-rock moving along a given slope of a prismatic bed with the maximum concentration, then its flow can be controlled and direct along small slopes of the channel, providing at that the constancy of the first value of sediment carrying capacity. At the same time, the sections of the channel where steepness of the bed is relatively gentle require corresponding design innovations of the mud-and-rock flow controlling facilities. The received design solutions for mudflow controlling structures enable reliable control of mudflows where downward grade is small.

Analiza działania układu kontrolującego zapewniającego spływ gruzowy (mieszaniny błota i skał) pozwala na wykrycie prawidłowości, a w konsekwencji mechanizmów zapewniających przepływ o określonych wartościach składników stałych i wody w przypadku różnego nachylenia kanału i parametrów jego przekroju. Aby rozwiązywać ten problem założono, że mieszanina błota i kamieni o maksymalnej gęstości porusza się w kierunku spadku pryzmatycznego złoża, wówczas jego przepływ może być kontrolowany i kierowany w strefę małych spadków kanału, zapewniając tym sposobem zdolność do przenoszenia osadów. Jednocześnie sekcje kanału, w których spadek koryta jest stosunkowo łagodny, wymagają wprowadzenia innowacji konstrukcyjnych urządzeń do regulowania spływu gruzowego. Otrzymane rozwiązania konstrukcyjne dla struktur regulujących spływ gruzowy umożliwiają niezawodną kontrolę przepływu błota i skał w kanałach o niewielkim nachyleniu.

This publication describes the factors governing the development of containerization in Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority, together with their organizational infrastructure and economy. These factors include port access to transportation facilities, which has a major influence on economic development and strengthens the position in the Polish market. Geographic location of both the port and the status and functioning of the Szczecin-Świnoujście fairway were taken into account. The amount of container handling in the ports described in the years from 2004 to 2015 was examined. The Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority is discussed in terms of size and progress of its changes, and handling capacity compared to other marine container terminals in Poland.

W okresie międzywojennym kanał był uważany za najpiękniejszą i najsprawniejszą drogę wodną II Rzeczypospolitej. Rozwój Bydgoszczy w XVIII w. i na początku XIX w. mocno wiąże się z tym obiektem hydrotechnicznym.

The Bydgoszcz Channel is an unique engineering structure in Europe. It was entered in the register of monuments in 2006. The Bydgoszcz Chanel in the interwar period was regarded as the most beautiful and the most efficient waterway on the territory of the Second Polish Republic. Development of Bydgoszcz in the eighteenth century and early nineteenth century, strongly associated with this hydro-engineering object.

Wiązary dachowe o węzłach typu K projektuje się według układu prętów pokazanego na rys. 1a. Pasy kratownicy wykonuje się z ceowników, a skratowanie z kątowników równoramiennych. Połączenie krzyżulców z pasem dolnym kratownicy można wykonać jak na rys. 2 lub 3. W pierwszym przypadku występuje nieosiowe połączenie krzyżulców i pasa. Przedstawiono sposób sprawdzania nośności węzła kratownicy, wykonanego według rysunku 2, biorąc pod uwagę wpływ momentu zginającego w pasie dolnym kratownicy (rys. 4) na nośność węzła.

Lattice girders with K-joints are designed as a member lay-out shown in Fig. 1. Lower chords are made from channels and branch members in angles with equal sides. K-joints can be designed as shown in Fig. 2 or Fig. 3. In the first case, branch members and a lower chord are jointed in eccentricity. The estimation of the truss joint capacity according to Fig. 2. is discussed. A gusset plate can be designed to reinforce the joint resistance and lower chord in bending. The design example is made to explain the calculations of member strength and joint resistance.

Simulation of the surface plasmon polariton (SPP) distribution in the 10 μm long four-channel multiplexer is conducted in present paper. The excitation of the SPP was done using the 632.8 nm pulse laser with 50 fs pulse duration. The simulation processes of the SPP propagation in the fourchannel multiplexer were performed for the latter switched as a splitter as an adder. Though the obtained signal strength is low due to ohmic losses and signal reflections in the middle of the waveguide it is possible to registrate it. The detailed procedure of waveguides preparation, analysis and registration of SPP propagation is described in the paper. For the proposed model verification the two-channel 20 μm long splitter was formed by optical projection lithography. Studies have shown that the SPP is distributed throughout the whole structure of the 20 μm long two-channel splitter with a partial extinction due to ohmic losses.

The objective of the paper was to know preferences of consumers from Małopolskie Voivodeship as a fundamental factor of growth and functioning of distribution channels of organic products. A fast development of the organic products market as well as growing requirements of the society with regard to the quality of sale and form are observed. More and more often consumers pay attention to the source of goods and the form in which the product is offered to them. Research and analyses are a precious source of information for agricultural producers on account of production orientation and the form of sale. It will also facilitate development of existing distribution channels and formation of new ones. Research results indicate that consumers are interested in the purchase of products in small packaging or loose. Sums which they spend on organic food do not exceed PLN 400 per a month.

Celem pracy było poznanie preferencji konsumentów z terenu województwa małopolskiego jako podstawowego czynnika rozwoju i funkcjonowania kanałów dystrybucji produktów ekologicznych. Obserwujemy szybki rozwój rynku produktów ekologicznych, jak też rosnące wymagania społeczeństwa co do jakości i formy sprzedaży. Coraz częściej konsumenci zwracają uwagę na źródło pochodzenia towaru oraz postać w jaki produkt jest im proponowany. Prowadzenie takich badań i analiz jest cennym źródłem informacji dla producentów rolnych pod kątem ukierunkowania produkcji oraz doboru odpowiednich form sprzedaży. Ułatwi to również rozwój istniejących już kanałów dystrybucji oraz łatwiejsze tworzenie nowych. Wyniki badań wskazują na fakt, że konsumenci zainteresowani są zakupem produktów w małych opakowaniach lub luzem, a kwoty jakie wydają na produkty ekologiczne nie przekraczają 400 PLN w skali miesiąca.

Przytoczone w artykule przykłady sztuki budowlanej z różnych okresów cywilizacji starożytnej wymagały rozwiązania m.in. problemów natury geotechnicznej. Umiejętność lokowania obiektów, wykonywania nasypów, zapór, wałów i grobli w połączeniu z wyborem odpowiedniego materiału i jego zagęszczaniem, a także budową kanałów i tuneli oraz fundamentów obiektów mostowych to problemy, które są przedmiotem zainteresowań współczesnej geotechniki. Zrealizowane obiekty budowlane dowodzą wielkości ich twórców, chociaż nie wszystkie zakończyły się spektakularnym sukcesem.

The examples of the construction art from various periods of ancient civilization cited in the article posed many problems of geotechnical nature that needed to be solved. Problems such as positioning the structures, constructing embankments, dams and dykes, and the selection of appropriate materials and compacting, as well as construction of canals, tunnels and foundations of bridge structures are of interest in the contemporary geotechnical engineering. The structures which were built demonstrate the genius of their creators even though not all of them turned out to be a success.
