The new method of determination of the mean outlet angle in the vaneless volute diffusor of the centripetal turbine

In the present article the new method used for determination of the mean angle of the flow at the outlet of vaneless diffusor was developed. The method utilizes data obtained from 3D CFD simulation of the gas flow inside the turbine's volute. Special attention was payed to the location and geometrical characteristics of the control surface, where components of the mean angle of the flow at the outlet of vaneless diffuser are detected. In order to increase the accuracy of the angle’s determination a specially developed mathematical technique was used in this method. The value of the mean angle of the flow at the outlet of vaneless diffuser allows to express the triangle of velocity at the inlet of turbine's impeller. Obtained data could be further used in turbine’s one-dimensional quasi-stationary models.

W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono nową metodę wyznaczania średniego kąta przepływu na wylocie z bezłopatkowej kierownicy dośrodkowej turbiny. Metoda ta wykorzystuje dane uzyskane z symulacji 3D przepływu gazu wewnątrz turbiny. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na położenie i charakterystykę geometryczną powierzchni kontrolnej, na której są definiowane składowe średniego kąta przepływu na wylocie z bezłopatkowej kierownicy. W celu zwiększenia dokładności wyznaczenia tego kąta, w niniejszej metodzie został specjalnie opracowany aparat matematyczny. Znajomość wartości średniego kąta przepływu na wylocie z bezłopatkowej kierownicy pozwala na stworzenie trójkąta rozkładu prędkości na wlocie do wirnika turbiny. Uzyskane dane można następnie wykorzystać w jednowymiarowych quasi-stacjonarnych modelach turbiny.
