W artykule przedstawiono problematykę wykorzystania właściwości perlitycznych warstw w odlewach z żeliwa ciągliwego białego po niepełnym cyklu wyżarzania. Wskazano możliwości zastosowania tych obszarów po zabiegach hartowania i azotowania w warunkach intensywnego zużycia ściernego. Zwiększenie odporności na ścieranie odlewów jest uzupełnieniem bardzo dobrych właściwości tego materiału konstrukcyjnego w zakresie wytrzymałości na rozciąganie, plastyczności, udarności i spawalności. Podstawowym aspektem w procesie niepełnego wyżarzania jest określenie wpływu istotnych czynników decydujących o czasie rozpuszczania się cementytu eutektycznego w austenicie w czasie I stadium grafityzacji.

The article presents the issue of the use of the properties of pearlitic structure malleable white cast iron GTW after incomplete annealing cycle. Indicated possibility application this case after induction hardening and nitriding treatment in intensive abrasive wear. Improvement of wear resistance of castings is the complement to very good properties of the material of construction for the tensile strength, ductility, toughness and weldability. An essential aspect in the incomplete annealing process is to determine the impact of important factors determining on the time of dissolution of the eutectic cementite in austenite during the I stage of graphitization.

In this work an analytical solution is used to explain mechanism of carbon influence on the transition from graphite to cementite eutectic in cast iron. It is found that this transition can be related to (1) the nucleation potential of graphite (characterized directly by the cell count, N and indirectly by nucleation coefficients Ns and b) (2) the growth rate coefficient of graphite eutectic cell, [mi] (3) the temperature range, [delta]Tsc = Ts - Tc (where Ts and Tc is the equilibrium temperature of the graphite eutectic and formation temperature of the cementite eutectic respectively) and (4) the liquid volume fraction, fl after solidification of the pre-eutectic austenite. Method of estimation of Ns b and [mi] values was presented. It has been shown that the main impact of carbon on the transition from graphite to cementite eutectic consist in increasing the eutectic cell count and growth rate of graphite eutectic cell. Analytical equations were derived to describe the absolute, CT relative chilling tendency, CTr and chill, w of cast iron.

Po krótkim omówieniu dotychczasowych danych literaturowych, dotyczących metod wytwarzania podeutektycznego żeliwa białego i jego obróbki cieplnej, przedstawiono program przeprowadzonych badań własnych na wyżej podany temat. Obejmował on ustalenie składu chemicznego żeliwa białego, sposób jego wytapiania i odlewania próbek, umożliwiający uzyskanie wyizolowanego cementytu eutektycznego. W dalszej części podano sposób przeprowadzenia procesu grafityzacji wyizolowanego cementytu eutektycznego. Po omówieniu uzyskanych wyników, uzyskanych z przeprowadzonych badań, przedstawiono mechanizm procesu jego grafityzacji oraz sposób wykorzystania uzyskanych wyników badań dla celów praktycznych.

After a short review of data given so far in literature on the methods of manufacturing hypoeutectic white cast iron and its heat treatment, the program of own research on this subject was presented. It covered determination of the chemical composition of white cast iron, the technique of melting and casting of test pieces in a way such as to enable isolation of the eutectic cementite. In the next part of the study the methods used to achieve the graphitisation of the separated eutectic cementite were described. After discussion of the results obtained in this research, the mechanism of the graphitisation process and some means to utilize the obtained theoretical results in practice were presented.
