In the Polish economy there is a significant increase in mergers and consolidations, and at the same time there is a tendency to outsource a significant part of processes within enterprises. This article will present and discuss chosen aspects of development strategy of a company within IT sector (most frequently outsourced service) operating in mother company and subsidiary set-up within a capital group. Being a part of a capital group means that the subsidiary has a challenge of not only exercising its own strategy and achieving its own goals and targets, but also it has to be lined up and synchronised with its mother company’s strategy in order to support achieving mother company’s goals and targets. In order to ensure the above subsidiary’s strategy has to be developed in a way that takes the company’s unique position into account.

W polskiej gospodarce mamy do czynienia ze znacznym wzrostem fuzji i konsolidacji, a jednocześnie zauważalna jest tendencja do outsourcingu znacznej części procesów w przedsiębiorstwach. W artykule przedstawiono i omówiono wybrane aspekty strategii rozwoju firmy w sektorze IT (najczęściej outsourcingowana usługa) działającej w relacji spółka-córka, spółka-matka w warunkach grupy kapitałowej. Bycie częścią grupy kapitałowej oznacza, że spółkacórka stoi przed wyzwaniem nie tylko realizowania własnej strategii i osiągania własnych celów, ale także przed wyzwaniem skoordynowania i zsynchronizowana ze strategią spółki-matki w taki sposób, aby wspierać osiągnięcie celów i zadań spółki-matki.

The subject of research considerations discussed in the article is the selected by the author military theoreticians’ concepts that both in the past and now are the basic interpretation of strategic assault organization and performance conducted by air force (and currently other air assault assets). In military experts’ opinion this armed forces’ service is perceived as the most appropriate to this kind of operations. It is commonly agreed that air forces allowed reaching political and military goals both on their own and in cooperation with other armed forces’ services. According to the author, in order to assess the air forces’ predispositions to perform strategic assault, two components should be taken into considerations. The first one concerns possessing various air platforms of substantial combat capabilities. The second one refers to taking advantage of air environment for military goals. Significantly, it is stated in the majority of doctrinal assumptions relating to waging wars that its classical beginning is to achieve air superiority. Thus, the author treats air superiority as a necessary condition to initiate a land or sea operation. Therefore, he believes that the fight for air superiority along with strategic assault create realistic possibilities to eliminate the most important objects in particular sub-systems creating military power of a given country and consequently lead to lowering its survivability and capabilities to wage a war.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań sondażowych w dwóch przedsiębiorstwach górniczych. Badania dotyczyły realizacji celów strategicznych oraz sprawdzenia frakcji wyboru konkretnych opcji przez respondentów (zgodnego w opinii kadry zarządzającej zestawu celów). W momencie, gdy strategia ulega zredefiniowaniu, wówczas mogą zmienić się też wyznaczone wcześniej cele strategiczne. Dlatego muszą one być monitorowane i uaktualniane.

The article presents the results of surveys in two mining companies. The study concerned the implementation of strategic objectives and checking of a selection fraction of specific options by respondents (compatible objectives set in the opinion of the management staff). The moment the strategy is redefined the earlier determined strategic objectives may also change . Therefore they must be monitored and updated.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie wyników przeprowadzonych badań sondażowych mających na celu dobór mierników do wyłonionych we wcześniejszych badaniach celów strategicznych przedsiębiorstwa górniczego. W artykule zaprezentowano rezultaty trzech metod wyboru tych mierników oraz wybrane ich przykładowe karty.

Effectiveness is one of the most critical issues in management research. It means the companies’ ability to realize the strategy suitably. That’s why the managers should know how to translate the strategy into strategic objectives (what’s also very important) and theirs measures. The article presents the results of survey research in mining companies. The end results of selection measures for certain strategic objectives methods are shown in the article. There are also a few examples of measure’s information cards, which are necessary in efficient operation of a management system.

Zarządzanie jakością jest od kilkunastu lat jednym z dominujących obszarów zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem. Można jednak odnieść wrażenie, że od pewnego czasu traci swoją świeżość i siłę motywowania do ciągłego doskonalenia, funkcji, która jest jego wyróżnikiem. Przyczyn takiego stanu rzeczy jest bardzo dużo, są związane z brakiem czasu, brakiem motywacji ze strony kierownictwa, pozorowaniem działań czy zwykłym zużywaniem się idei, stojących za zarządzaniem jakości. W artykule zwrócono uwagę na wybrane problemy stojące przed menadżerami jakości, których zrozumienie powinno pomóc w uniknięciu czyhających na nich pułapek.

For the last several years quality management is one of the dominating ideas in a widely conceived management of enterprises. However is to notice that for a certain time it is losing its power to continuous improvement, a basic function of quality management. The reasons are managers lack of time and motivation and just outdating the ideas and principles which stand behind the quality management. In the paper the main problems facing the quality managers in the next future are risen. Their perception and understanding should be helpful in development and successful introduction the quality management ideas in companies.
