Review of freight high speed railway (HSR)

The e-commerce market is gaining popularity globally every year. This market also entails the need to deliver the purchased goods at a time that is affordable for the user. One of the solutions is the use of High Speed Railway (HSR) for freight purposes, which is characterized by a relatively low rate of environmental nuisance. Based on the latest available market data and a literature review, an extensive review of the use of HSR, including for cargo transport, has been performed. The article presents an analysis of the demand for express freight transport. The potential and the demand for freight HSR have been demonstrated. The activities and analysis concerning the use of HSR for freight transport were described. Rail freight transport in Poland, Europe and China are characterized. Data on the use of the HSR infrastructure in the world are presented. HSR vehicles use for the transport of goods were presented. The potential and possibilities of using freight HSR in Europe were described. Based on the data, the use of this type of transport seems justified for LDHV shipments when the delivery time is crucial for the user and when the railway infrastructure and rolling stock are properly adapted.

Wybrane wyniki pomiarów drgań wywołanych przejazdami pociągów w zależności od prędkości i rodzaju taboru

W artykule przedstawiono wybrane wyniki pomiarów drgań gruntu w warstwie przypowierzchniowej. Drgania gruntu wzbudzane były przejazdami pociągów osobowych: Pendolino i składów InterCity oraz pociągu towarowego. W celach porównawczych przeanalizowano przejazdy z różną prędkością po dwóch torach linii. Pomiarów drgań dokonano podczas testów homologacyjnych nowo zakupionego pociągu Pendolino. W artykule zaprezentowano przyspieszenia drgań w dziedzinie czasu – przebiegi czasowe przyspieszenia drgań oraz częstotliwości – widma ciągłe (FFT) i ich zależności od położenia akcelerometru. Wielkości przyspieszenia drgań w poszczególnych przekrojach wykazują duże tłumienie drgań szczególnie między czujnikami znajdującymi się najbliżej osi toru. Przedstawiono także wyniki częstotliwościowo-czasowe z zastosowaniem krótkookresowej transformaty Fouriera (STFT) w celu porównania charakteru uzyskiwanego wzbudzenia drgań w zależności od taboru, prędkości i toru, po którym poruszał się pociąg. Analiza ta pokazuje, iż zmiana taboru dotychczas eksploatowanego na Pendolino redukuje drgania w otoczeniu linii kolejowych.

The study presents a selection of vibration measurement results in the ground surface layer. Pendolino, InterCity trains and cargo train caused free-field vibrations. Runs at variable speed on two trackswere analyzed to have comparison. Vibration measurements were realized during the certification test of newly purchased Pendolino train. In the paper vibration acceleration records obtained in time domain and frequency domain (FFT) and their dependence on the position of the accelerometer are presented. The acceleration of vibrations in the individual sections shows a great backdrop of the property-vibration especially between sensors located closest to the centre of the track. The paper also presents the results in the time – frequency domain using short-term Fourier transform (STFT) for comparing the nature of the obtained excitation vibration which depends on rolling stock, track and speed at which the train was running. The results show that the change of rolling stock previously operated on Pendolino will reduce vibrations in the surrounding of railway lines.

Dostawa węgla brunatnego do elektrowni z krajowych kopalń odkrywkowych położonych w większej odległości od miejsca jego dostawy, podobnie jak i w wielu innych krajach, dokonywana jest transportem kolejowym. Wykorzystywane są w tym celu wyłącznie wagony samowyładowcze. W warunkach zimowych występują znaczne utrudnienia w grawitacyjnym ich rozładowaniu, mogące doprowadzić nawet do zupełnego braku możliwości opróźnienia wagonu w wyniku całkowitego zmarznięcia jego zawartości.
