Results of measurement of direct voltage distribution along a string of glass cap-and-pin insulators was shown in the paper. As a research objects 3 different types of insulators were chosen: LK 280/165 (used in AC power lines), U40B produced by LVIV Insulator Company (used also in AC and DC power lines), F16P/C170DC produced by SEDIVER Company (used only in DC power lines). The comparison of measurement of voltage distribution using compensation method and results of measurements acquired with symmetric and asymmetric sphere gap methods was done. The comparison of measurement results of voltage distribution on a string of insulators with calculated voltage distribution based on the resistance of each particular insulator was also done.
