A data envelopment analysis based for evaluating efficiency of bus public routes

The public transport service is highly essential to meet the demand due to a rapidly growing population and mobility. Thus providing public service and improve its service becomes an urgent need in recent years. In Iraq, the Bus system represents the backbone in public transportation, which is based mainly on highway infrastructure. To meet the growing mobility needs, enhancing public service provided only by bus routes is essential. Measuring bus route performance represents one of the crucial transit research topics in the last recent years. The current study tries to investigate the urban public route's efficiency utilizing the "data envelopment analysis (DEA)" technique. To analyze route performance, DEA is using, and performance measures include route design, cost, service, operation, and comfort efficiency are selected and calculated for different routes. Efficiency and effectiveness are the output of this process. Bus company owners can also use the results of this study to improve their services, attract new customers, and better manage their resources.

W artykule przedstawiono informacje dotyczącego tego usprawnienia, którego celem jest skrócenie czasu odprawy autokarów.

In recent years, public administration implementing more and more electronic services. The Customs Service is one of the leaders in introducing e-services. One solution is to eBooking BUS system, which provides transport companies for electronic notification of the Customs Service of the planned crossing of the border by bus. The article presents information on the improvements, the aim of which is to shorten the clearance time coaches.

Rozważając zalety i wady systemów opierających się na wydzielonych jezdniach autobusowych bądź tramwajowych, bierze się pod uwagę zakładane potrzeby przewozowe, dostępne środki finansowe, inne korzyści dla miasta, ja k np. umożliwienie szybkich przemieszczeń pojazdom służb ratunkowych. Głównym zamysłem artykułu jest przedstawienie trudności organizacyjnych z zakresu inżynierii ruchu, jakie trzeba brać pod uwagę, decydując się na budowę wydzielonych korytarzy autobusowych.

During considering the advantages and disadvantages of BRT or tram system, the main course is to take into account the expected transport needs, available funds and other benefits for the city like fast movements of emergency service vehicles. The article presents difficulties in the field of traffic engineering that need to be taken into account when deciding to build a dedicated bus corridors.

Celem artykułu jest próba przedstawienia zmian zachodzących w zakresie regularnych linii autobusowych w Polsce w latach 2000–2007 oraz w województwie zachodniopomorskim jako w aspekcie społecznym. Przedstawiono dane statystyczne prezentujące wielkość przewozów pasażerskich w Polsce jako odniesienie do oferty usługowej przedsiębiorstw przewozowych oraz wskaźnik motoryzacji dla Polski i województwa zachodniopomorskiego, traktując samochód osobowy jako jeden z substytutów pasażerskiego transportu publicznego.

The purchase of the transport service is being conditioned with its availability. A distribution and a density of transport points operating the passenger and goods movement are one of the main factors shaping the availability of transport services. The limitation in number of regular bus lines as well as their lengths are affecting adversely to the transport availability of areas which they concern. Apart from longdistance lines all remaining kinds of bus lines communication in Poland registered the decrease what it can be the reason of appearing as well as deepening on these areas the phenomenon of social exclusion. However, one should remember, that in Poland we are observing the rapid development of the individual motorization, which in part is compensating for the smaller number of bus lines.
