The surface layer of machine components after finish machining arc mainly defined by roughness parameters. Increasing demands as to components, especially those co-sliding and co-rolling, make it nccessary to define additional parameters such as waviness ratios especially when resisting to seizing and noise reduction are essential. The article evaluates cylindrical surfaces burnished by these methods on the basis of waviness ratios.
