Bunker demolition located in a conservation protection zone in the light of technical, national defense, functional-utility and economic conditions

The paper presents a description of the technical condition of the Bunker building located at the port quay, which has been out of use for several decades. The direct reason for the cessation of exploitation was the deletion of Bunker from the Civil Defense records. The paper contains a detailed analysis of the Bunker's technical condition, also taking into account the national defense, functional and utility aspects and the issues of economics of carrying out renovation works. The paper shows that despite the location of the Bunker in the conservation protection zone, the optimal solution was its demolition and the final use of the area where the Bunker was located as a place for the construction of warehouse buildings with parameters adapted to the current needs and target transshipment capabilities of the port quay.

In order to limit dust transfer during the operations of material transportation at the factories of the construction industry, factories of the mineral and raw materials complex employ special dust suppression bunkers. These devices are structures located above a railway hopper (either a truck body or a conveyor). Through the input portal of the device, the transported material is transferred. Dusting can also be carried out under the bunkers from the side of the hopper, into which the material is poured. The design of dust suppression bins should be accompanied by a simulation of dust propagation processes. The simulation should be carried out in order to minimize the dust emissions and to select the optimum locations for the dust suppression sprayers.

W artykule opisano stan techniczny podziemnego obiektu, a w szczególności jego stropu i sposób wzmocnienia żelbetowej płyty stropowej. Podziemny bunkier żelbetowy, znajdujący się w centrum Zielonej Góry jest obiektem wybudowanym w latach 50-tych ubiegłego stulecia i przez ponad 30 lat służył do składowania opału. Obiekt znajdował się obok przyległej, lokalnej kotłowni, zaopatrującej w ciepło okoliczne budynki. Wraz z zmieniającymi się warunkami ekonomicznymi, lokalne kotłownie przestały być rentowne i zaczęto je likwidować. Tak też stało się w opisywanym przypadku.

The article describes the technical state of an underground structure, in particular its slab and the reinforcement of steel reinforced concrete slab. The underground bunker made of reinforced concrete and situated in the centre of Zielona Góra was built in the 1950s and has been used for the past 30 years to store fuels. The structure was situated next to a local boiler facility which supplied heat to nearby buildings. The changing economy contributed to the liquidation of local boiler facilities, as happened in this case.

Niniejsza praca dotyczy podziemnego bunkra zbudowanego podczas II wojny światowej przy Dworcu Głównym PKP we Wrocławiu. Obejmuje ona opis stanu technicznego budowli wykonany w oparciu o badania eksperymentalne na miejscu oraz laboratoryjne. Przedstawiono koncepcję modernizacji bunkra jak również możliwości wybudowania parkingu podziemnego w miejscu bunkra. Autorzy zaprezentowali metody rozbiórki obiektu oraz wnioski.

The paper regards the underground bunker built during the Second World War by Wroclaw Railway Station. It contains the description of the technical condition of the structure based on the experimental studies in-situ and in the laboratory. The conception of the modernization is also presented. The possibilities of construction of underground car-park in the place of the bunker are considered. The authors present methods of demolition and conclusions.
