This paper presents a method for determining the optimal transversely-attached dampers applied to bundle conductors. The differential equation of waves induced in the cable by damper's force was derived and then it was solved by using the method of Laplace transform. The principle of wave superposition was used to describe the resultant wave. The optimal force maximizes the dissipation energy in dampers. It can be derived from the Euler equation associated with the energy functional.
