The present rules of documentation of terrain and urban areas mapping do not provide the continuity in representation of the real space. Buildings are represented on the map exclusively by their outline empty inside (Fig. 1). They are the zones of discontinuity in the large-scale map image and can reach up to 30% of the whole map area. The building space is documented separately. Buildings may have their own documentation in the form of drawings or in the formal languages. The documentation of buildings is usually stored in another place than the cartographic one. Such situation leads to a disintegration of the terrain and buildings description. There are many tasks, when it is necessary to determine relations between the building interior, building elevation and surrounded terrain. In this work, four groups of tasks are described: identification relations, geographic relations, relations of impact on building environment and relations in decision-making in crisis management. In order to integrate the building interior representation with the representation of surrounding terrain, it is proposed in this work to expand the function of the land information system with documentation of the object. internal space. This way of documentation (Fig. 2) provides a continuity of the space description, uniformity of technology and allows storing of the documentation in the same place. In addition, such way of documentation, based on GIS technology, makes it possible to perform many analyses using GIS tools. The records of building interior geometry, performed in accordance with GIS technology, allowed the execution of several analyses. They are shown in Figures 4, 5, 6 & 7. The author proposes to treat the described concept as an apprroach, which enriches the information resources of the land information system and brings real practical benefits.
