W pracy przedstawiono opis wpływu różnej zawartości lepiszcza w piasku o osnowie chromitowej na odlewy staliwne i żeliwne. Pokazano, jakie poziomy odniesienia dla tego piasku przyjęła do stosowania Pioma Odlewnia. Przedstawiono, jakie wady może powodować nadmierna zawartość lepiszcza w piaskach o osnowie chromitowej. Opisano również, brak jednoznacznej zależności pomiędzy składem chemicznych piasku a powstającymi wadami. Tym samym zawartość lepiszcza może wpływać na powstawanie wad na odlewach niezależnie od składu chemicznego piasku.

The description of the influence of various clay contents in sands of the chromite matrix on steel and iron castings, is presented in the paper. The reference levels for this sand, assumed for the application by the Pioma Casting House, are shown. Defects, which can be caused by the clay content in sands of the chromite matrix, were presented. The lack of the explicit dependence between the sand chemical composition and the formed defects was also described. Thus, the clay content can be causing the defect formation in castings, regardless of the sand chemical composition.

Research on possibility of microwave measurements application for determination of adhesive ingredient content in moulding sand

This paper presents preliminary results of the research on possibility of determination of adhesive material content in classical moulding sands with application of microwave measurements. Presented results have been obtained by measurements with microwave slotted line. Information about bonding clay content has been derived from measurements of reflection coefficient and VSWR of tested substrate sample. The presented measurement method allows for fast and accurate measurements.
