Artykuł przedstawia awarię żelbetowego silosu na biomasę znajdującego się na terenie zakładu produkującego płyty wiórowe. W wyniku pożaru trocin konstrukcja silosu uległa uszkodzeniu. W związku z tym jej stan techniczny wymagał gruntownej naprawy. Wizja lokalna ujawniła osłabienie elementów konstrukcyjnych, ich pęknięcia oraz zniszczone fragmenty otuliny. Autorzy opracowania poddali ocenie bezpieczeństwo konstrukcji oraz zaproponowali sposób naprawy silosu.

The article shows failure of reinforced concrete biomass containing silo located in a chipboard factory. The damage of silo is a result of sawdust fire. Therefore, the silo structures need extensive repairs. Inspection revealed a weakening of the structural elements, their cracks and damaged coatings. The authors have evaluated the stability of structure and proposed the best repair method of silo.

A serious problem that needs to be taken into account in the design of silos for storage of biomass is to ensure interference-free process of discharge. Due to specific properties of the biomass, resulting in the vaulting in the silo chambers and their dangerous phenomena of crumps, the need for such exploration of structures that would eliminate these unfavorable operation effects is very timely. One of such structures is to use the concept of flaccid, textile, cylindrical shells in flat-bottened silos. Such flaccid shells might be used in existing already silos for biomass. The results of own experimental investigations show good efficacy of the proposed solution.
