Wprowadzenie roweru miejskiego będącego dopełnieniem systemu transportu publicznego w wielkich aglomeracjach, a głownie w najbardziej zatłoczonych centrach miast, wydaje się być bardzo dobrym rozwiązaniem, które może przyczynić się do redukcji zanieczyszczeń powietrza oraz zmniejszenia poziomu hałasu. Transport rowerowy w wielu sytuacjach może doskonale uzupełniać braki w transporcie publicznym, np. nocami, w święta oraz w dni, w których autobusy kursują w ograniczonym zakresie. W artykule przedstawiono funkcjonowanie wdrożonego pod koniec roku 2014 systemu roweru miejskiego w Lublinie. Przedstawiono podstawowe informacje dotyczące tego systemu, jego wady i zalety oraz istniejącą infrastrukturę oraz perspektywy rozwoju.

The introduction of urban bike which complements the public transport system in the big cities, and mainly in the most congested urban centers seems to be a very good option, which can help to reduce air pollution and noise. Cycling in many situations may well complement deficiencies in public transport, e.g.: at night, on holidays and days on which buses run to a limited extent. The article presents the functioning of the city bike system in Lublin implemented by the end of 2014. The basic information about the system, its strengths and weaknesses as well as the existing infrastructure and development perspectives were presented.

Uniwersytet Warmińsko-Mazurski w Olsztynie zajmuje obszar ok. 4 km2, który w roku akademickim zatłoczony jest pojazdami spalinowymi. Narastający problem zagospodarowania przestrzennego (miejsca parkingowe, wąskie odcinki ulic) i rozplanowania transportu wewnętrznego generowanego przez blisko 30 tys. mieszkańców sprawia, że szukanie ekologicznych, alternatywnych rozwiązań stało się koniecznością. Wdrożenie zautomatyzowanego systemu transportu rowerowego w kampusie uniwersyteckim może stanowić szansę na poprawę tej sytuacji poprzez redukcję natężenia hałasu, ruchu pojazdów spalinowych, emisję szkodliwych substancji do atmosfery, poprawiając przy tym walory wizerunkowe osiedla Kortowa i całego miasta Olsztyn. W artykule przedstawiono i porównano główne modele systemów wypożyczania rowerów publicznych wykorzystywanych na świecie, dokonując przy tym analizy cech charakterystycznych dla danego systemu i możliwości wdrożenia go na zadanym obszarze. Zaprezentowano także rozwiązania, które w nowatorski sposób mogłyby motywować do korzystania z alternatywnego sposobu transportu jakim jest rower.

The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn has an area of ca. 4 km2 and is filled with an increasing number of combustion engine vehicles, especially during the academic year. The search for eco-alternatives has become necessary due of the growing problems caused by nearly 30 thousand people. These problems include spatial development (parking and narrow streets) and trouble with the layout of internal transport. The creation of automated bicycle transportation on the university campus can be an opportunity to improve this situation by reducing noise, traffic, and the emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. This will improve the quality of Kortowo and the whole city of Olsztyn. This paper presents and compares the main types of public bicycle sharing systems used in the world. It analyzes the characteristics of the system and the abilities to implement it in a certain area. It also presents a solution that would motivate a novel way to use bicycles as an alternative mode of transport. Creation of automated bicycle transport on the university campus can be an opportunity to improve this situation by reducing noise, traffic, emission of harmful substances.

Z początkiem czerwca we Wrocławiu rozpoczęły swoją działalność wypożyczalnie Wrocławskiego Roweru Miejskiego. Celem tego artykułu jest odpowiedź na pytanie, czy pomysł ten jest dobrą alternatywą względem samochodu? Szczególny nacisk położony został na politykę transportową i działania podjęte przez magistrat mające na celu spopularyzowanie rowerowej formy komunikacji. Scharakteryzowane zostały trwające oraz najbliższe inwestycję miasta poczynione w celu uatrakcyjnienia tego sposobu podróżowania. Artykuł przedstawia formy nadawania priorytetu dla rowerzystów względem innych użytkowników systemu komunikacyjnego miasta. W części końcowej opisane zostało użytkowanie systemu Wrocławskiego Roweru Miejskiego w pierwszych miesiącach jego istnienia.

From the beginning of the June the first Wrocławski Rower Miejski Stations came into operation. For the purpose of this article is to give an answer if this idea is a good alternative for a car. A special emphasis was put on the transport policy and actions taken towards popularizing a bicycle form of transport. There were characterized ongoing and the nearest investments of the city taken in order to make this way of traveling more attractive. The article presents forms of giving priority for cyclists in relation to other users of transport system. In the final part of the article use of the Wroclawski Rower Miejski was described in first months of its existence.
