An impact of poultry farms on the environment caused by ammonia emission from chicken manure has been studied. A negative impact minimisation method by adding natural sorbents to the bedding composition has been proposed. The optimum natural adsorbents compositions (clinoptilolite and palygorskite) for adding to the bedding as well as the optimum mixture ratio of these adsorbents to chicken manure mass have been determined. The optimum conditions for obtaining granulated organic-mineral fertiliser of prolonged action based on this composition have been studied. In the result of the research data analysis a technological scheme for organic-mineral fertiliser production based on chicken manure and a mixture of natural adsorbents have been proposed.

W pracy zaprezentowano metodykę badań i sposób przygotowania stanowiska badawczego materaców wodnych dla bydła mlecznego. Do badań przygotowano stanowiska w oborze wolnostanowiskowej z obsadą 69 krów dojnych, z czego 15 sztuk wyznaczono dla oddzielnej grupy krów w oddzielnym boksie z legowiskami wyposażonymi w materace wodne. Badania polegają na ocenie ekonomicznej i jakościowej oraz funkcjonalnej materaców oraz określeniu wpływu na dobrostan zwierząt.

Paper described the methodology of investigation and manner of preparing the stand for testing the water mattresses for dairy cows. The investigations are provided to be carried out in a free-stall cattle barn, of the stock density 69 milking cows; 15 cows of that should be selected and located as a separate group into independent box, of beddings equipped with the water mattresses. The investigations comprise the economic, qualitative and functional evaluation of mattresses as well as their influence on the animal welfare.

Badano rozwiązania i stosowane usprzętowienie gospodarki nawozami naturalnymi w oborach ściółkowych stanowiskowych analizując aspekty organizacyjne, technologiczne i techniczne procesu usuwania i magazynowania obornika i gnojówki. Stwierdzono, że w badanych oborach występuje wyłącznie obornik słomiasty, który w około 80% obór usuwany jest mechanicznie na gnojownię dwa razy na dobę. W złym stanie technicznym znajduje się około 54% płyt gnojowych i 10% zbiorników na gnojówkę oraz ponad 33% przenośników, ponad 43% ładowaczy i ponad 71% rozrzutników. Zapotrzebowanie na nowe maszyny zgłasza 43% badanych gospodarstw, a zapotrzebowanie na modernizację i nowe inwestycje budowlane zgłasza 17% badanych gospodarstw.

There were studied - by means of the analysis of the organisational, technological and technical aspects of the process of removing and stockpiling manure and liquid manure - the solutions and equipment used in the process of managing the natural fertilisers in bedding post cowsheds. It was found that exclusively straw manure was present in studied cowsheds, which from ca 80% cowsheds was removed mechanically to dunghill twice a day. About 54% of manure plates and 10% of reservoirs on liquid manure as well as over 33% of conveyors, 43% of loaders and 71% of spreaders were in poor technical condition. Demand for new machines reports 43% of studied farms, and demand for new building investments and modernization 17% of them.

Przedstawiono procedurę badań dwóch typów podłoży legowiskowych dla krów mlecznych w oborach wolnostanowiskowych z uwzględnieniem techniki filmowej. Na podstawie wyników filmowej rejestracji zachowania krów mlecznych określono zbiór wskaźników charakteryzujących preferencje zwierząt w zakresie badanych rozwiązań stanowisk legowiskowych.

A research method to carry out comparative analysis of two types of bedding on stalls for dairy cows kept in a cowshed with loose housing system was presented. Tasks performed by technical systems with film monitoring were emphasised in the method as well as the process of improvement of environmental conditions in the cowshed considered from the view-point of comfort created for cows on the stalls. On the basis of recorded data covering cows' behaviour, the selected graphs showing some aspects concerning utilisation of the stalls were analysed.
