W artykule krótko przedstawiono charakterystykę procesu diagnostyki chorób przewodu pokarmowego oraz istniejące techniki wspomagania go na bazie analizy zdjęć z badań endoskopowych. Szczegółowo opisano proces tworzenia specjalistycznej bazy danych medycznych, której przeznaczeniem jest wspomaganie procesu uczenia klasyfikatorów chorób przewodu pokarmowego. Na koniec przed-stawiono zebrane w bazie dane oraz uzyskane efekty.

The article briefly presents the process of diagnosing gastrointestinal diseases and discusses existing techniques of supporting it with automatic analysis of video from gastrointestinal examinations. Further, the process of designing a specialized medical database is described. The main goal of the created database is to provide data for the training of automatic classifiers of gastrointestinal diseases. Finally, the collected data and acquired results are presented.

Medical objects are based on different formats, where graphics are the most representative. They provide us with tremendous volumes of the data, very troublesome in management processes. For simplifying these processes, many works for simple and fast descriptors finding were undertaken. Fashionable platform for solving these problems one can be found in XML environment. This technology enables ordering and simple organisation of the database, with friendly linguistic description of the discussed items.

B-cell chronic lymphocitic leukemia (B-CLL) is the most common type of leukemia in adults. The aim of the work was to design and implement a computer registration and monitoring system for patients with B-CLL. The developed BIAL system comprises modules allowing for registration of the data related to patient's identification, patient's general state (e.g. objective examination, phenotype, etc.), laboratory examinations (biochemical, immunological and cytogenetical), applied treatment (chemo- and/or immunotherapy) and evaluation of immunotherapy on an animal model. Selected biochemical and immunological parameters can be presented on charts, to facilitate evaluation of patient's state, the course and outcome of the treatment. The BIAL system was preliminary verified basing on the data registration of 8 B-CLL patients treated with chemo- or immunotherapy in the Clinic of Hematooncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation MU in Lublin. It was found to be comprehensive yet easy to learn and use. The system should facilitate the current treatment of the B-CLL patients and should make a foundation for the future multi-patients data analysis leading to elaboration of the criteria for selection of the optimal treatment regimen for patients with B-CLL.
