The article concerns the analysis of elimination of technical barriers for people with physical disabilities in one of the social welfare homes in the Silesian voivodeship. The following paper presents original projects created by the staff of nursing home: table for consumption and telephone booth. These solutions influence on improving the ergonomics of everyday consumption for both the physically disabled residents and their attendants, and comfortable and intimate telephone conversation with relatives on the property. This projects have been carried out on the premises of the institution by its workers.

Proces powtórnego wykorzystywania materiałów budowlanych (recykling) jest stosowany w Polsce z powodzeniem od wielu lat, w przeciwieństwie do słabo rozpoznanych zagadnień ponownego użycia całych elementów konstrukcyjnych (reuse). W artykule, na bazie własnych doświadczeń, autorzy przedstawili najważniejsze problemy związane z różnymi fazami tego procesu.

The process of reuse through the processing of building materials is used in Poland successfully for many years, in contrast to weakly recognized problems of reuse of whole structural members. Based on their own experience, the authors presented in the paper the most important issues related to the different phases of this process.

High-temperature solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are considered as suitable components of future large-scale clean and efficient power generation systems. However, at its current stage of development some technical barriers exists which limit SOFC’s potential for rapid large-scale deployment. The present article aims at providing solutions to key technical barriers in SOFC technology. The focus is on the solutions addressing thermal resistance, fuel reforming, energy conversion efficiency, materials, design, and fuel utilisation issues.
