The aim of the research outlined in this paper is to evaluate thermal spray processes like Atmospheric Plasma Spraying (APS) for the protection and upgrade of aluminium particularly for the low cost and flexible manufacture of automotive components. A great demand for automobile fuels due to increased rate of consumption and necessity of provide clean air environment in coming years. The automobile industry not only to find alternative fuel sources but also looking for fuel economic and eco friendly vehicles. Thermal spray coatings are depositions of materials which has been melted or plasticized immediately prior to projection onto the substrate. The thermal barrier coating is done on the piston for reducing the emission and thereby improving the efficiency of the internal combustion engine. The Alumina and Silicon Carbide particle were used as coating materials and the effect of the both on the emission and mileage is reported in this paper.

W artykule opisano opracowany i wdrożony do produkcji w Instytucie Łączności analizator zakłóceń krótkotrwałych ACA-4c, pozwalający na skrócenie czasu badań wyrobów w zakresie emisji trzasków. Urządzenie to umożliwia automatyczne wykonywanie kompleksowej analizy trzasków, równocześnie dla czterech znormalizowanych częstotliwości i na obu poziomach analizy. Zbudowane zostało w oparciu o bogate doświadczenie Instytutu i spełnia wszystkie wytyczne zawarte w normach.

Equipment like thermostats or software-controlled devices such as refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines etc. are very specific group of equipment, which generate discontinuous disturbances in the form of clicks occurring periodically, being grouped in different way in the time domain with wide dispersion of their amplitude. Therefore they subject to limit values different from those applicable to continuous interference. The EN 55014-1 standard requires from manufacturers of the above mentioned products to perform appropriate measurements, specific to such disturbances. National Institute of Telecommunications (Wrocław branch) elaborated very specialized automatic click analyser ACA-4c which enables the automatic analysis of the character of discontinuous disturbances (clicks), according to CISPR Publ. 14-1(EN 55014-1) requirements. It shortens the whole time of the clicks measurement to about 2 hours.
