In this paper, the issue of teaching professional aviation subjects in the field of higher education air transport was ad‐dressed. We present some research results in the field of didactics of professional aviation subjects, teaching effectiveness, motivation and evaluation of students in education. In this work we present some approaches to the development of didactics of professional subjects in Slovakia. We state that the subject of didactics is the student, teacher and knowledge forming the didactic tri‐angle. Didactics of professional subjects examines the possibilities of transforming the knowledge of technical scientific disciplines into the content of education, didactic systems, teaching projects and the studentʹs knowledge. We researched the area of didactics of professional aviation subjects with a focus on motivating students to study. We managed to involve a large sample of students in the research, which helped us in‐crease the objectivity of the results. Based on the research results, we recommend some measures to increase the quality of higher education of students in the field of air transport. The motivating goal for our research is to support the quality of education at the Faculty of Aeronautics of the Technical University of Košice.

Dynamiczny rozwój sektora lotniczego wpłynął na aspekt tworzenia nowych miejsc pracy. Główną potrzebą jest więc zatrudnianie pilotów, mechaników, członków personelu pokładowego, czy też pracowników obsługi naziemnej. Z powyższych względów utworzono Program Edukacji Lotniczej i Lotniskowej, którego głównym celem jest rozbudowa zaplecza specjalistycznego personelu, których kompetencje wspomogą perspektywiczne uksztaltowanie rynku lotniczego w Polsce. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie głównych założeń Programu Edukacji Lotniczej i Lotniskowej. Zdiagnozowano ponadto motywację młodzieży szkolnej wchodzącej na rynek pracy w sektorze lotniczym, a także wskazano rozwiązania i propozycje zmian w pozyskiwaniu wykształconego personelu lotniczego. Problem badawczy wyrażono pytaniem: Jakie rozwiązania mogą determinować perspektywiczne ukształtowanie systemu przygotowania profesjonalnie wyszkolonego personelu do wykonywania zawodów w obsłudze transportu pasażerskiego? W artykule posłużono się analizą oraz wnioskowaniem. Przeprowadzono ponadto badania empiryczne w postaci ankiety. W toku przeprowadzonych badań przedstawiono główne założenia Programu Edukacji Lotniczej i Lotniskowej. Wśród nich wymienia się inwentaryzację aktualnego stanu sektora lotniczego oraz jego integrację. Istotne jest ponadto wypełnianie luk kompetencyjnych oraz kreowanie nowych form rozwoju. Zdiagnozowano ponadto motywację uczniów do kształcenia w kierunku wykonywania zawodu obsługi pasażera. Większość młodzieży szkolnej kieruje się możliwością odbywania podróży, a także poznawania świata. Rozwiązaniem determinującym przyszłe ukształtowanie systemu szkolenia personelu obsługującego pasażerów, jest utworzenie jednolitego systemu nauczania poprzez szkoły średnie po uczelnie wyższe, gdzie zakres kształcenia odpowiadał będzie potrzebom rynkowym.

The dynamic development of the aviation sector influenced the aspect of creating new jobs. The main need, therefore, is to hire pilots, mechanics, cabin crew members or ground crew. For the above reasons, the Aviation and Airport Education Program was created, the main goal of which is to expand the base of specialist personnel, whose competences will support the future development of the aviation market in Poland. The aim of the article is to present the main assumptions of the Aviation and Airport Education Program. Moreover, the motivation of schoolchildren entering the labor market in the aviation sector was diagnosed, as well as solutions and proposals for changes in acquiring educated aviation personnel were indicated. The research problem was expressed by the question: What solutions may determine the prospective shaping of the system of preparing professionally trained personnel to perform professions in passenger transport? The article uses analysis and inference. In addition, empirical research was conducted in the form of a questionnaire. In the course of the research, the main assumptions of the Aviation and Airport Education Program were presented. These include an inventory of the current state of the aviation sector and its integration. It is also important to fill the competency gaps and create new forms of development. Moreover, the motivation of students to train in the profession of passenger service was diagnosed. Most schoolchildren are guided by the possibility of traveling and learning about the world. The solution determining the future shaping of the passenger service personnel training system is the creation of a uniform education system through secondary schools to universities, where the scope of education will correspond to market needs.

Flight training devices of the ‘SELEKCJA’ system

The article describes a comprehensive system of the ‘SELEKCJA’ system designed for the needs of flight training conducted at the Polish Air Force Academy. Selective training is the first stage of flight training aimed at preparing the candidates for the next stage that is a basic training. The selection in aviation is a continuous process which provides pilots to be verified on a daily basis. Flight training devices of the ‘SELEKCJA’ system used in flight training aim at improving the candidates’ selection process for the academy. After selective training in the aeroclub, training with the use of ‘SELEKCJA’ simulators is another verification tool. Computerized database of the system allows to track the progress of candidates to become pilots during their training on a military aircraft at the 4th School Aviation Wing. Additionally, the system contains all medical information on candidates while their stay at the academy.

The Ukrainian airlines’ fleet consists of civil aircrafts, 80 percents of which are manufactured abroad, in particular in the United States of America and in Western Europe. That is why it requires training of aviation specialists who perform maintenance operations of foreign and national modern aircrafts in accordance with the international standards. Principal aspects of national educational standards for aircrafts maintenance personnel training harmonization with EASA Regulations have been analyzed to show how to adjust the educational and training programs and curricula for training of aircrafts maintenance personnel according to Part-66 standards.

Wyższa Szkoła Oficerska Sił Powietrznych przygotowuje się do uruchomienia ośrodka szkolenia personelu bezzałogowych statków powietrznych. Do uruchomienia tego procesu konieczne jest spełnienie kilku warunków, w tym między innymi: przyjęcia odpowiednich rozwiązań, wynikających z narodowych i ponadnarodowych uregulowań prawnych oraz zorganizowania teoretycznych i materialnych podstaw szkolenia (programy i symulatory). Uruchomienie tego procesu na bazie WSOSP, pozwoliłoby, zdaniem autorów, uporządkować i sformalizować całość procesu szkolenia personelu lotnictwa w Siłach Zbrojnych RP (dzisiaj nie ma ośrodka szkolenia personelu BSP). Sformalizowanie procesu szkolenia i certyfikowania personelu BSP miałoby szersze implikacje dla szkolenia tego personelu, również dla pozostałych służb mundurowych oraz innych ośrodków w państwie, wykorzystujących te technologie, na przykład w celach komercyjnych, badawczych, innych. Niniejsza publikacja ma więc na celu wskazanie szerszego spektrum problemów. Prezentuje ona także przemyślenia autorów w zakresie koncepcji i ocen aktualnych możliwości oraz wskazuje potrzeby i niezbędne kierunki działań w tym obszarze.

Polish Air Force Academy is preparing to launch the training process of pilotsoperators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), but does not have all the necessary conditions, both legal and material, to run the whole process. Analyses indicate that the launch of the education process from the theoretical side is not a problem. PAFA has a well-trained scientific and teaching staff, as well as rich experience in the training military aviation personnel. The system does not cover training of pilots - operators of UAVs. Hence the need to develop a training system for this group of personnel, which would formalize the whole training in aviation, standardize the procedures and define the requirements that the candidates for pilots of manned and unmanned platforms have to fulfil to begin the practical part of training. This document aims to present thoughts, ideas and experiences of PAFA in this field.
