W referacie wskazano czynniki determinujące proces wytwarzania o dużych gabarytach, zwłaszcza w zakresie automatyzacji tego procesu. Analizę dokonano na przykładzie obrabiarek skrawających przeznaczonych do obróbki elementów wielkogabarytowych (EWg). Jest to coraz liczniejszy zbiór obrabiarek, gdyż współcześnie obserwuje się rosnące zapotrzebowanie na tego typu elementy. Ze względu na swoje przeznaczenie obrabiarki takie charakteryzują się również dużymi gabarytami, co implikuje pewne cechy charakterystyczne i ograniczenia w zakresie automatyzacji procesu ich wytwarzania. Istotnym, uwzględnionym w referacie zagadnieniem jest to, że obrabiarki coraz częściej mają strukturę modułową.

In the paper factors which determine manufacturing process of large-size machine, especially in the range of automation, were indicated. Analysis were made on example of machine tools predestine for large-size elements machining. They create greater and greater number set of machine tools, because to-day growing order for elements this type is observed. In consideration of mentioned machine tools purpose their elements are also largesize, what generate some characteristic features and constraints in the range of their manufacturing process automation. The essential problem, considering in this paper is fact that machine tools often and often have modular structure. Obtained results could be useful both, for designers and producers, not only this type of technological machines.

Obecnie w Polsce funkcjonuje wiele małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw, w których pracują nowoczesne obrabiarki sterowane numerycznie, najczęściej jednak z obsługą operatorską. W artykule autorzy pokazują, jak można, wykorzystując najnowsze rozwiązania techniczne, w postaci zrobotyzowanych modułów dostawianych do maszyny i stosunkowo niewielkim kosztem, zautomatyzować przepływ przedmiotów w obrabiarkach zainstalowanych w zakładzie.

At present there are many middle and small enterprises in Poland, where are modern CNC machine tools in use, in most cases manualy opereted. In the paper, the authors show how to automate flow of workpieces in machine tools installed in the plant, using the latest technology in form of robotic cells adapted to the machine, at relatively low costs.

Machining has always been and still is the basic manufacturing technology. Constantly increasing demand against dimension accuracy and repeatability is a driving force of progress in machine engineering industry. Objectively, metal working machines are among the most rapidly developing machines. Despite the fact that numerically controlled machine tools have been on the market for more than a half century and despite their popularity - modern industry cannot live without them - most of the NC/CNC machine tool users do not know much about its construction and principle of operation. The article presents selected most interesting aspects of NC/ CNC machine mechanical structure and its construction system.
