Indigo dye has been widely used for dyeing traditional blue denim products intended to give a worn faded look. However, while using the warp yarn dyeing process with indigo dye often occur problems of colour variation. To prevent colour variation, controlling the indigo dye baths is an important factor. The objectives of this study include adjusting dosages of leuco indigo, hydrosulphite, pH (caustic), using an automatic measurement and dosing system taking redox titrations as the basis. It was observed that measurements carried out with this system became more reliable and also had a positive effect on the quality of the product.

Barwnik indygo jest szeroko stosowany dla barwienia tradycyjnych tkanin dżinsowych, którym nadaje się wygląd zużycia. Podczas barwnika nitek osnowy za pomocą indygo, często występują problemy z zachowaniem odpowiedniego odcienia. Dlatego też kontrola kąpieli barwiarskiej z barwnikami indygo jest ważnym zagadnieniem. Przedmiotem przedstawionej pracy jest między innymi dozowanie leuko-indygo, podsiarczynu oraz ługu sodowego (dla regulacji pH), za pomocą systemu automatycznego pomiaru i dozowania opartego na miareczkowaniu redox.

Profile measurement of surfaces is of vital importance in today’s industries, such as lens, wafer fabrication, microstructure. The phase-shifting interferometry (PSI) is very useful in optical measurement. The PSI has many advantages including noncontact measurement, high accuracy and high-speed of measurement. However, most of the PSI measurements are only suitable for certain measurement function and must match the specific algorithms. Therefore we can not integrate the system effectively. In this paper, we choose an interference fringe analysis program, named Intelliwave that can support an automation measurement system. The system can also be integrated with interferometers for different application mechanics, including Michelson, moiré, ESPI, Twyman–Green, Fizeau and shearing interferometers.

A concept of WWW-based distributed measurement system is presented. Due to use of the internet as an interface, virtually any numer of the instruments can be located in any place without any distance limit. Under proper software, structure of the system can be changed while the system is running. Due to use of the WWW and Java language, the system controlling software is platform independent. The concept presented in the paper can be used in a variety of applications, of which the most important are wide-area quasi-real-time data aquisition systems, eg. country-wide pollution monitoring system. An application of the concept will be lokely presented in a separate paper.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję rozproszonego systemu pomiarowego sterowanego za pomocą WWW. Dzięki wykorzystaniu Internetu, jako interfejsu łączącego poszczególne urządzenia, praktycznie nie występują ograniczenia liczby urządzeń występujących w systemie, ani odległości między nimi. Przy odpowiedniej konstrukcji oprogramowania struktura systemu może być modyfikowana podczas pracy systemu. Dzięki wykorzystaniu WWW i języka Java oprogramowanie sterujące pracą systemu jest niezależne od platformy sprzętowej. Przedstawiona w artykule koncepcja systemu pomiarowego może być wykorzystana do wielu zastosowań, z których najważniejszymi wydają się bardzo rozległe systemy zbierania danych pracujące w czasie prawie - rzeczywistym, jak np. ogólnokrajowy system monitorowania zanieczyszczeń środowiska. Przykład praktycznej realizacji koncepcji rozproszonego systemu pomiarowego sterowanego za pomocą WWW zostanie przedstawiony w oddzielnym artykule.
