Application of supporting management processes through the use of information systems is now becoming one of the basic requirements of market competition. Professional distributed systems not only facilitate collaboration with customers but also reduce operating costs. The aim of this analysis is to present the functionalities that may characterize management system, indicating their relevance to property managers. Market overview confront the expected functionality with the practical implementation of the identified solutions for the most popular systems for universal use. The summary of the significance of using CAFM software will be the review of selected commercial and municipal projects.

W artykule przedstawiono pojęcie audytu informatycznego, jego rolę w doskonaleniu funkcjonowania organizacji. We wstępnej części wyjaśniono pisownię słowa "audyt" oraz podano typy i rodzaje audytów. Następnie omówiono szczegółowo audyt informatyczny. Scharakteryzowano trzy modele audytu informatycznego: klasyczny, formalny i merytoryczny. W odniesieniu do każdego z nich podano źródła i sposób pozyskiwania informacji o przedmiocie audytu, kryteria oceny, zakres potrzebnej wiedzy do jego przeprowadzania. Na koniec przedstawiono korzyści z przeprowadzania audytu informatycznego w organizacji.

The scope of the paper is information system audit and the role in improvement the activity of the organization. The spelling of the word "audit" and different types and kinds of audits have been presented. Three audit models in reference to source and ways of collecting information, criterion of the assessments, range of the necessary knowledge have been described.
