The new method of automatic determination the I, III and V waves of Auditory Brainstem Responses is presented in the paper. The brainstem response arises as a result of acoustic stimulation of auditory system. The main aim of the presented study is to analyse an effectiveness of using IPAN99 algorithm for automatic wave I, III and V determination. The presented results of research show that the IPAN99 algorithm combined with time domain constraints can be useful for this application.

W pracy przedstawiono zastosowanie systemu automatycznej detekcji i usuwania artefaktów w postaci fali sonomotorycznej z zapisu słuchowych potencjałów wywołanych pnia mózgu (ABR – Auditory Brainstem Responses). System ten jest oparty na metodzie dekompozycji przybliżonych, która umożliwia wyodrębnienie z analizowanego sygnału jego składowych na podstawie kryteriów uwzględniających wartości latencji i energii oraz morfologię. Działanie systemu zostało przetestowane na danych modelowanych i rzeczywistych sygnałach ABR.

The application of automatic detection and removal of sonomotor waves from Auditory Brainstem Responses (ABR), is presented. The system is based on the method of adaptive approximations, which enables the isolation of the components from analyzed signal, basing on their latency, energy and the morphology. The performance of the system was evaluated on simulated signals and the real ABR recordings.
