The paper presents the results of testing the resistance of conveyor belts to abrasion. Abrasion tests were carried out in order to obtain an answer to the question: why in various laboratories performing abrasion tests of the same belt many times results deviate from each other? Abrasion tests were carried out in three laboratories: an accredited, academic laboratory and a manufacturer of conveyor belts. In order to keep data confidential, the names of the laboratories were not given. The laboratories are marked with the symbols 1, 2 and 3 without stating which number corresponds to a specific laboratory. In order to limit the impact of errors resulting from human factors that are committed by laboratory technicians in the course of abrasion tests, it was decided that one person would perform tests in all three laboratories [1]. In order to compare the results of abrasion tests obtained in different laboratories, they were subjected to multicriteria statistical analysis using the Statgraphics program.

Humanistic management may be among the latest buzzwords, but the older generation maintains that it knew all about it all along. Some of them had practised it at the workplace. It is all about workplace dignity. By giving it a fancy name, Generation Z is only reinventing the wheel. Upon interaction with the respondents selected for the study, the researcher concludes that humanistic management can help reduce attrition and raise employee productivity. As a result, the employer can become more price-competitive and quality-competitive at the workplace. Thus, the outcome is a virtuous cycle of enhanced productivity, enhanced competitiveness and reduced training costs. But what piqued the curiosity of the researcher was why, to this day, humanistic management remains an exception and not the rule, across the employer community. This is because employers placed more faith in authoritative managers than in individual workers and group dynamics. They ignored interpersonal relationships. They failed to acknowledge the value of dignity in the economics and management space! This amounts to being wise to the penny and foolish to the pound. At best, it may lead the employee to churn out products at the same dreary pace for the rest of his/her work life. For all one knows, the employee concerned may be capable of delivering more but no thanks to absence of humanistic management, the employee concerned is seldom motivated to excel himself/herself at the workplace. Humanistic management dispels the notion that productivity level is the same across employees.

The main purpose of research was to indicate with tribological properties of high strength polypropylene geofabrics. The research involved fabric attrition. The following parameters were examined: breathable air, weight loss and thickness changing of geofabrics samples. The research samples and laboratory conditions were described, measuring instruments and measurement methods were specified. Obtained results of the research were presented in the form of tables and graphs with appropriate description.

Content available remote Activation of oxidized surface of anthracite waste coal by attrition
EN
In this paper the activation of oxidized surface of anthracite waste coal was investigated. Coal weathering leads to physical and chemical changes on the coal surfaces and a reduction of its hydrophobicity and floatability. The changes and the presence of oxygen functional groups in the structure and surfaces coal was confirmed by the FTIR study on the raw and waste coal. The groups have remarkable impacts on surface charge and thus flotation kinetics. The floatability of oxidized coal may be improved by the creation of fresh, unoxidized surfaces on coal by attrition at high solid concentration prior to introducing coal to the froth flotation process. This paper presents the results of the effects of attrition on the floatability of the oxidized surface of waste coal, coal pyrite and alumino-silicate minerals through electrokinetics and microflotation experiments. The results show that the attrition, in the viscous pulp with the solid content of 50%, lead to the mechanical cleaning of oxidized surface and activation of the surface of coal particles, which agrees with the change of zeta potential and increasing floatability of coal by 10%. Obviously that the mechanical scrubbing may be able to restore the natural floatability of superficially oxidized coal by removing the thin oxidation layer from the coal surface. The results show that attrition time is an important parameter from the point of view of activating the oxidized coal surface, and positive changes in zeta potential and floatability. The change of zeta potential, as a measure surface charge state of coal particles, from -15 mV to about 0 mV, after attrition for 30 minutes, confirms positive application of attrition. Zeta potential approaching 0 mV resulted in increasing floatability down to the real possibilities of the attrition process prior the coal flotation.

Przedstawiono wyniki badań ścierania kryształów chlorku sodu w krystalizatorze typu MSCPR, w którym cyrkulację zawiesiny wymuszano za pomocą strumienicy. Wyznaczono wpływ rozmiarów kryształów, zawartości fazy stałej w cyrkulującej zawiesinie i czasu przebywania zawiesiny w krystalizatorze na stopień ścierania kryształów. Stopień ścierania nie przekroczył 9%. Słowa kluczowe: krystalizator, strumienicą, ścieranie, chlorek sodu

Research results of sodium chloride crystals attrition in the crystallizer with a jet pump and the crystallizer with a propeller agitator are presented. It was found out that in the crystallizer with a jet pump crystals underwent distinctly smaller destruction. The influence of residence time, size of crystals and solid phase content in circulating suspension on the degree of crystal attrition was determined.
