The paper presents analysis of reactive power compensation in low-voltage network of an industrial plant of high asymmetry of the RL-type loads, with the use of MADCAT computer software. For compensation of reactive power in the network the capacitors and synchronous machines are used, that are endangered to consequences of high voltage asymmetry. The loads are characterized by impedance variations in particular phases, variable R/L ratio and C capacity. The paper considers important problem of determining allowable asymmetry of RL load with regard to the degree of asymmetry of the winding currents of the synchronous machine and the capacitor, and particularly the ratio of the negative sequence voltage of the synchronous machine armature to its rated voltage.

The paper presents dependence of asymmetric receivers of RLC type on the output parameters of a transformer. The analysis has been carried out for the case of the transformer supplied from a symmetrical three-phase network. Results of the analysis are presented in the form of characteristic patterns illustrating the influence of the changes of the receiver parameters on distribution of the currents in transformer windings, the changes in output voltage, and the factors of the degree of voltage and current asymmetry.

The paper presents an analysis of the effect of a group of asymmetric receivers of R, L type on the battery of static capacitors and a synchronous machine connected to a common low-voltage network of an industrial plant, supplied from an own transformer. In result of the analysis a proposal of a limit of the degree of the receiver asymmetry is formulated with a view to prevent harmful effect on the synchronous machine and the battery of capacitors. The analysis considers the influence of the asymmetry on the currents flowing in the transformer, the synchronous machine, and the capacitor.
