Purpose: Nowadays, product development is very important to remain competitive in the market, one of which is to reduce the assembly of time and cost design. This article discusses the study of iron products on the market. Based on the problems found in the SMEs of Electronic Services, this iron has many components and complex designs that take time-consuming to assemble. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to redesign the ironing. Design/methodology/approach: Improvements to the design of iron products are based on the problems present in this product. This problem is obtained by distributing questionnaires to Electronic Services SMEs. The improvements are carried out using the Design for Assembly (DFA) method to evaluate the design with ease of assembly processes. Findings: This paper attempt to improve the design of ironing products according to the problems obtained from the initial questionnaire, which is to reduce the assembly time and costs using DFA. Practical implications: The result of these improvements is a reduction in the amount of assembly time and costs and an increase in efficiency. The actual design assembly time is 358.16 to 269.70 seconds on the proposed design. The actual design assembly cost budget is 956.81,- rupiahs, reduced to 720.50, in the proposed design. Then the actual design efficiency of 21.77% increased to 24.74%. Originality/value: Iron design improvements are based on problems and complaints received from the electronic services SMEs, then analysed using the DFA method. Therefore, the improvements in the design of the ironing product are present in two components, that is the back cover and the handle.

Predicting costs of assembly of buried flexible structures

Plannig of construction processes besides technical and technological issues involve economical analyses. In the case of buried flexible structures one would consider elements like total investment costs, timing and life cycle costs. One the elements of total investment costs of building bridges or culverts made from corrugated buried structures is the cost of their assembly. As this cost is vulnerable to uncertainty and risk of error of estimation due to number of factors influencing the assembly process it is important to apply appropriate methodology in predicting it [1,2,3,4]. There has been several models for predicting costs of assembly developed over years. A short summary of those is presented in this paper with comparison analysis of results. Special emphasis is placed on multi-factor approach in modeling the costs prediction presented in one of the discussed model called LITCAC.

Planowanie procesów budowlanych poza aspektami technicznymi i technologicznymi obejmuje również analizy ekonomiczne. W przypadku podziemnych konstrukcji z blach falistych rozpatruje się w tym aspekcie elementy takie jak całkowite koszty inwestycji, czas realizacji oraz koszty obejmujące okres użytkowania tych konstrukcji. Jednym z elementów kosztów budowy obiektów z konstrukcji lub rur z blach falistych jest koszt ich montażu. Z uwagi na to, że proces montażu konstrukcji z blach falistych wkracza w obszar niepewności i ryzyka popełnienia błędu przy oszacowania kosztów montażu co jest skutkiem wieloczynnikowego charakteru procesu montażu, w celu właściwego prognozowania kosztów montażu należy zastosować odpowiednia metodę działania [1,2,3,4]. Na przestrzeni lat stworzono wiele modeli służących do prognozowania kosztów montażu konstrukcji z blach falistych.W referacie zaprezentowano krótkie ich podsumowanie wraz z analizą porównawczą. Szczególnie ujęto podejście wielo czynnikowe modelowania kosztów montażu zaprezentowane w jednym z opisanych modeli o nazwie LITCAC.
