Examples of the use of the embedded systems for the long-term collection of slowly-changing parameters in the traction of a car

The article presents how embedded systems can be used to collect data in the long-term traction of a car. It is assumed that the long period is the time of a travelled distance, e.g. a few thousands of kilometres, or a time, e.g. a month. Such data can be used to optimize the control systems and to diagnose unusual faults in mechatronic systems. The research paper presents how, with the use of very cheap devices, it is possible to collect data that quite often could not be collected even with the use of very expensive measuring devices. The possibility of simple analysis of signals in real time was also pointed out.

Efektywne działanie służb straży granicznych wymaga odpowiedniego wsparcia w dziedzinie infrastruktury telekomunikacyjnej i informacyjnej. W artykule opisano system, który spełnia oczekiwania tych służb, dotyczące gromadzenia, przetwarzania i dynamicznego udostępniania danych multimedialnych, pozyskiwanych przez jednostki mobilne, punkty obserwacyjne i centrum. Tymi danymi są sygnały mowy, dane mapowe zawierające informacje AIS, radarowe oraz GPS, sygnały wideo, komunikaty SMS/SDS, obrazy, pliki, notatki. Przedstawiono także proces prowadzący do zrealizowania demonstratora technologicznego tego systemu. W szczególności opisano architekturę systemu, jego warstwę sprzętową i sieciową, środowisko programistyczne, w którym napisano i uruchomiono aplikacje warstwy użytkowej systemu. Na zakończenie scharakteryzowano testy, jakim poddano końcowy produkt.

The effective functioning of services of Border Guards requires the proper support in the telecommunications and information infrastructure. In the paper a system which is meeting expectations of these services for collecting, processing and dynamic making available multimedia, acquired data by mobile units, observation points and a centre were described. These data are signals of the speech, map data containing data information from AIS, radar and GPS, signals of the video, SMS/SDS messages, images, files, notes. Also a process leading for carrying out the technological demonstrator of this system was described. In particular an architecture of the system, his equipment and network layer, programming environment in which applications of the functional layer of the system were wrote was presented. At the end tests a final product was subjected.

Multimedia Archiver (MA) is a system build upon the promise and fascination of the possibilities emerging from cloud computing and Big Data. We aim to present and describe how the Multimedia Archiving system works for us to record, put in context and allow a swift access to large amounts of data. We introduce the architecture, identified goals and needs taken into account while designing a system processing data with Big Data characteristics coming from multiple sources. We have described the key components and features of the infrastructure and software salient features involved in our solution. In addition, we rethink the aspects of possible implementation and use, and we present the lessons learned from our experience.

Multimedia Archiver (MA) jest systemem opartym na obietnicy i fascynacji możliwościami wyłaniającymi się z chmury obliczeniowej i technologii Big Data. Zaprezentowano i opisano, w jaki sposób chmura obliczeniowa działa, aby można byto rejestrować, uwzględniać kontekst i umożliwić szybki dostęp do dużej ilości danych. Przedstawiono filozofię, cele, ograniczenia, zidentyfikowane zagrożenia i przeszkody brane pod uwagę podczas projektowania systemu przetwarzania danych multimedialnych pochodzących z różnych źródeł. Ponadto omówiono aspekty wdrożenia i stosowania oraz przedstawiono wnioski wypracowane na podstawie uzyskanych doświadczeń.
