Architecture, as a science and practice of forming the environment, sensitively responds to the challenges of modernity - technological, economic, etc. One of the urgent challenges is environmental, the concern of which is formulated in many international acts, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals until 2030. Methods of neutralizing the negative impact on the environment in modern conditions are costly and consist of energy-intensive technologies. Architecture has been built since ancient times on the principles of consistent inclusion of artificial structures in the environment: in different countries there are traditional methods of protection from adverse climatic factors through the use of architectural planning and structural techniques. Demonstration of the possibilities of traditional ways of forming a comfortable environment in the countries of the East, as well as their interpretation in modern energy-efficient practice of architecture and construction is given in this article.

The study of the relationship “the natural qualities of water - the naturally built environment - the psycho-emotional conditions of human beings” from the perspective of architectural and landscape organization is essential nowadays. By investigating modern monuments we identified the methods of landscaping and composition planning to create the appropriate environment to emotionally impact the persons dealing with grief, sadness and loss. The conducted analysis of modern memorials allowed us to explore the role of water as an important compositional element in the architectural and landscape organization of monument sites. We also identified different methods of modeling water and how they affect related emotional impressions in creating the urban social environment that would preserve the historical and cultural memory from generation to generation.

Zagadnienie „naturalne cechy wody - naturalne tereny zabudowy - psycho-emocjonalne zależności z ludźmi” z punktu widzenia ukształtowania architektury i krajobrazu jest niezbędne w dzisiejszych czasach. Badając współczesne pomniki wyznaczaliśmy metody planowania i kształtowania krajobrazu, w taki sposób, aby stworzyć odpowiedni nastrój, wywołując u ludzi poczucie żalu, smutku i straty. Przeprowadzone analizy współczesnych pomników pozwoliły nam odkrywać rolę wody, jako ważnego elementu kompozycyjnego w architektonicznej i krajobrazowej strukturze miejsc zabytkowych. Zidentyfikowano różne sposoby kształtowania wody, wraz z określeniem związku, jakie wrażenia emocjonalne wywierają one w tworzeniu miejskiego środowiska społecznego, które pozwoliłyby zachować pamięć historyczną i kulturową z pokolenia na pokolenie.

Value determination of water systems in historic gardens as the foundation of garden art works

The value of water systems in Ukrainian historic gardens and parks (founded in the 17th–19th centuries), which are formed on the natural beds of rivers and creeks, is disclosed on the example of their general planning structure and composite construction. The main principles of garden art works in these parks had a strong influence on the methodology of planning contemporary green areas, particularly in and around the “energy independence” of water systems. The modern trend of the integrated approach in architectural-landscape organization of streamside territories are shown in the author’s projects proposals.

Wartości systemów wodnych w ukraińskich historycznych ogrodach i parkach (zakładanych w XVIII i XIX w.), które uformowane zostały w naturalnych korytach rzek i potoków, zostały ukazane na przykładach ich ogólnej struktury planistycznej i konstrukcji kompozycji. Główne zasady dzieł sztuki ogrodowej tych parków miały wielki wpływ na współczesną metodologię planowania trenów zielonych, a zwłaszcza zagadnień związanych z wykorzystaniem systemów wodnych jako niezależnych źródeł energii. Nowoczesne trendy zintegrowanego podejścia do architektoniczno-krajobrazowego planowania terenów przystrumienowych zostaną przedstawione na przykładach autorskich projektów.
