Analysis of the state of preservation the historic arcaded houses in Vistula Delta listed in the National Inventory of Historical Monuments

Historic arcaded houses are part of the material heritage of the Vistula Delta. Unfortunately, their number is decreasing year by year. The article is the result of a query of available sources and field research carried out by the author in 2015-2020. The paper presents the current state of preservation the historic arcaded houses in Vistula Delta listed in the National Inventory of Historical Monuments. Criteria for the selection of test objects are described. The author has prepared a tabular list of arcaded houses with information about their location, type according to Kloeppel statistics, date of construction, technical condition and functions. The summary of the analysis are pie charts with a statistical presentation of the data collected by the author during the research.

Zabytkowe domy podcieniowe stanowią część materialnego dziedzictwa ujścia Delty Wisły. Niestety ich liczba z roku na rok maleje. Artykuł jest rezultatem kwerendy dostępnych źródeł oraz badań terenowych wykonanych przez autora w latach 2015-2020. W pracy przedstawiono aktualny stan zachowania zabytkowych domów podcieniowych Żuław Wiślanych. Opisano kryteria doboru obiektów do badań. Autor wykonał tabelaryczne zestawienie domów podcieniowych z informacjami o ich lokalizacji, typie wg statystyki Kloeppla, dacie budowy, stanie technicznym i funkcji. Podsumowaniem analizy są wykresy kołowe przedstawiające statystyczne ujęcie danych zebranych przez autora w trakcie badań.

Historic arcaded houses of the delta of the Vistula were the subject of great interest of many researchers, but their work was focused mainly on historical-architectural aspects. There are no publications which would focus on details and comprehensive analyses of construction systems for this group of historic buildings. The article is the result of field research, archival query and calculations made by the author. The paper analyses the rafter framing constructions of the preserved arcaded houses of type III. The author has prepared a list of construction elements of roofs, carpentry joints, rafter inclination angles and described the state of preservation of roof structure. The paper also includes calculations of the average volume construction material of the roof structure per square meter of roof slope plan.

Zabytkowe domy podcieniowe ujścia Delty Wisły były obiektem zainteresowań wielu badaczy, jednak ich prace koncentrowały się głównie na aspektach historyczno-architektonicznych. Nie ma publikacji skupiających się na szczegółach i dokładnych analizach ustrojów budowlanych dla tej grupy historycznych obiektów. Artykuł jest rezultatem badań terenowych, kwerendy archiwalnej i obliczeń wykonanych przez autora. W pracyprzeanalizowano konstrukcje więźb dachowych zachowanych domów podcieniowych typu III.Autor wykonał zestawienia elementów nośnych dachów, połączeń ciesielskich, kątów nachylenia krokwi, opisał także stan zachowania wiązarów dachowych.Praca zawiera również obliczenia średniej objętości materiału konstrukcyjnego wiązara więźby dachowej przypadającego na metr kwadratowy rzutu połaci dachowej.

Powstało wiele opracowań dotyczących zagadnień architektonicznych domów podcieniowych na Żuławach, ale brak na ten temat publikacji dotyczących problematyki techniczno-konserwatorskiej. Niniejszy artykuł jest fragmentem badań prowadzonych obecnie przez autora. Jest pierwszą próbą wykonania analizy statyczno-wytrzymałościowej wybranych, zabytkowych drewnianych podcieni z obszaru Delty Wisły, wraz z opisem stanu zachowania. W tekście zawarto główne cechy wytrzymałościowe drewna, zasady obliczania nośności słupów wg PN EN 1995-1-1 oraz PN-53/B-03150. Obliczono przybliżony ciężar przenoszony przez zabytkowe podcienia. W pracy ujęto opis występowania formy i zakresu terytorialnego budownictwa podcieniowego w Polsce. Wyjaśniono cel stosowania tego rozwiązania w budynkach. Przedstawiono rodzaje konstrukcji słupów oraz typologię i historyczny rozwój domu podcieniowego na Żuławach Wiślanych, z jego głównymi cechami charakterystycznymi.

There have been many articles on architectural issues of arcaded houses from the Żuławy Region. None of them tackled the technical and conservation problems. The following article presents a part of the author’s current research. It is the first attempt to demonstrate a static-strength analysis of selected historic wooden houses from Żuławy. It demonstrates the maintenance state of those buildings and includes the description of the main strength features of timber as well as the calculation rules of column capacity in compliance with PN EN 1995-1-1 and PN-53/B-03150. The approximate static load transferred by wood columns was calculated. The article describes both main forms of the arcaded construction in Poland and its territorial range. Furthermore, the paper accounts for the purpose of using this solution in buildings and provides the main types of both structure and typology of arcaded houses in Żuławy Region as well as their historical progress and key characteristic features
