The approach to applications integration for World Data Center (WDC) interdisciplinary scientific investigations is developed in the article. The integration is based on mathematical logic and artificial intelligence. Key elements of the approach – a multilevel system architecture, formal logical system, implementation – are based on intelligent agents interaction. The formal logical system is proposed. The inference method and mechanism of solution tree recovery are elaborated. The implementation of application integration for interdisciplinary scientific research is based on a stack of modern protocols, enabling communication of business processes over the transport layer of the OSI model. Application integration is also based on coordinated models of business processes, for which an integrated set of business applications are designed and realized.

In search for effective methods of routine formation

Organizational routines are a frequently researched phenomenon in contemporary management science. Although the available theoretical foundations of Routine Theory seem to have reached a significant degree of maturity over the last thirty years, the same could not be said about the availability of material advice for the management practice. This paper addresses this gap and proposes a framework for an effective routine shaping process. It builds on a brief analysis of available literature on routine formation, supported by case study findings. The approach proposed stresses the importance of the controlled learning process and underlines the importance of deliberate implementation, in contrast to the evolutionary and engineering views on routine emergence.

Rutyny organizacyjne są obecnie często analizowanym zjawiskiem we współczesnej nauce o zarządzaniu. Jakkolwiek wydaje się, że Teoria Rutyn osiągnęła na przestrzeni ostatnich trzydziestu lat przyzwoity poziom dojrzałości, to nie można tego samego powiedzieć o dostępności konkretnych zaleceń dla praktyki zarządzania. W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę wypełnienia tej luki poznawczej i zaproponowano jedno z możliwych podejść do skutecznego kształtowania rutyn organizacyjnych. Opracowano je na podstawie przeglądu literatury przedmiotu oraz wniosków płynących z analizy studium przypadku. Przedstawiona metoda podkreśla wagę kontrolowanego uczenia się i świadomej implementacji rutyn, kontrastując jednocześnie zarówno z ewolucyjnym, jak i inżynierskim podejściem do ich kształtowania.

Integrating web site services into application through user interface

The issue of integrating applications which are only accessible through visual user interface is not thoroughly researched. Integration of web applications running remotely and controlled by separate organizations becomes even more complicated, as their user interface can display di ﬀ erently in di ﬀ erent browsers or change without prior notiﬁcation as a result of application maintenance. While possible, it is generally not common for web sites to provide web services through standard mechanisms like SOAP, RPC, or REST, due to administrative, and especially security reasons. Programmatic use of the capabilities of numerous public sites which only provide web user interface to their services is very appealing, as they may signiﬁcantly extend the functionality of other applications. This paper presents the research on employing existing software of various purpose to integrating web sites using their user interface. With selected method, some capabilities of Moodle are expanded by integrating remote Moodle server with local application, to create team-work support tools.
