Striving for sustainable architecture in the 21st century - main issues in the development of innovative office space concepts

The knowledge on office building in the past and present, how the workspace evolved to incorporate contemporary technological breakthroughs, was in this paper combined with goals of sustainable building in a “smart” office building design in Belgrade, Serbia, taking local factors into consideration to create a comfortable space for the employees in a dense urban matrix with a minimal environmental footprint, and considering the workflow of contemporary office spaces, it’s multidirectional input and increasingly horizontal work hierarchy. Issues of proper inputs for building today in the 21st century are thoroughly considered in this paper and respective building’s design features as shown here: how to deal with location, position and orientation of the building, organization of both formal and informal areas, natural ventilation, green glazed surfaces, solar energy, wind turbines, rainwater utilization measures, surrounding vegetation, lighting and appliances, and piezoelectric paving.

W artykule wskazano miejsce LCM na tle innych metod i koncepcji zarządzania, które wyznaczają kierunki rozwoju urządzeń technicznych. Ponadto scharakteryzowano obszary zastosowań LCM ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zagadnień budowy i eksploatacji obiektów technicznych. Jako przykład zastosowania koncepcji LCM zaprezentowano prace nad kształtowaniem chłodziarko-zamrażarek.

In the paper the place of LCM is indicated on the background of other methods and concepts of management, which determine directions of technical appliances development. Additionally areas of LCM applications are characterized and specially topics of creation and maintenance of technical objects. As an example of practical application of LCM concept the case of refrigerators is presented.

Technical objects (machines, appliances, equipment etc.) constitute big group of items. In it machines and appliances form a class of objects which is characterized by large diversity, mainly because of their various destinations. In the paper general classification of machines and appliances is presented to choose the group of objects worthwhile to consider from the environmental impact point of view. First, practical aspects are chosen as a criterion for the highest level of the division. As the division criteria for the lower level constructional aspects are chosen. Depending on the aim of fulfilled function, productive machines and appliances for the industry branches, and machines and appliances to the transformation of different forms of energy are found using practical criteria. The analysis carried out on different technical objects, including machines and appliances shows that the parameter which should be carefully considered concerning environmental interactions is objects durability. Average durability of broad spectrum of these objects is presented in the paper. From the area of machines and appliances the branch of food industry machines and appliances is selected, as representative to consider environmental image of these objects. After the preliminary investigation of the magnitude impact, the subgroup of packaging machines is indicated to perform environmentally oriented analyses. These environmentally oriented analyses could be performed using life cycle approaches.

W artykule przedstawiono ogólną klasyfikację maszyn i urządzeń, jako podstawę do wyboru obiektów przeznaczonych do przeprowadzenia ich oceny środowiskowej. Spośród klasy maszyn i urządzeń, wybrano maszyny i urządzenia przemysłu spożywczego, jako reprezentacyjne do realizacji tego zadania. Po wstępnym określeniu oddziaływań do środowiskowo zorientowanych analiz wskazano grupę maszyn pakujących.
