This work outlines the development and analysis of an anti-roll bar system vehicle carried out by James Cook University. A detailed design phase was completed, clearly showing all stages of the design approach from the initial proposed design to the final design. Several analysis strategies are used throughout the report including weld calculations and FEA modelling. These calculations led to design changes impacting the final recommended system. This report demonstrates compliance with all Formula SAE rules regarding anti-roll bar systems.

W pracy dokonano badań symulacyjnych pojazdu z hydraulicznym systemem kontroli przechyłu ARC. Skupiono się na wpływie tegoż systemu na ograniczenie odchylenia samochodu od idealnego toru jazdy i zmniejszeniu niezbędnego kąta obrotu kierownicy potrzebnego do pokonania łuku o zadanym promieniu. Wykorzystano do tego program Matlab Simulink – głównie w celu dobrania odpowiednich stałych wzmocnienia dla regulatorów PID niezbędnych dla kontrolerów: przechyłu i obrotu wokół osi z. Finalne symulacje ruchu przeprowadzono przy użyciu programu CarMaker.

Simulation studies of a vehicle with active roll control system (ARC) were performed and described in the article. The work focuses on the influence of the said system on road deviation limitation and its impact on handling. Limitation of steering wheel effort seems to be a valuable outcome as well. Matlab Simulink has been used mainly to develop the control strategy and to tune PID controllers gain values responsible for: yaw rate and roll control. Next, vehicle motion tests were performed in CarMaker.
