Calcium - magnesium phosphates as a product of the utilization of soda ash industry waste

The suspension formed during the purification of raw brine in the soda ash industry creates a difficult waste, carried away into sediment ponds. The described solution is based on the waste converting into highly assimilable mineral supplements to animal feed. For this reason, the suspension is filtered and then obtained the post-filtration cake of 30% humidity undergoes a reaction with orthophosphoric acid. This process results in the formation of calcium and magnesium hydrophosphates, which are high quality food supplements, rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and micronutrients. The noxious waste management associates with not only ecologically favorable effect but also real financial profits: - the profit made on sale of the obtained calcium - magnesium phosphates, - exemption from part of payments for environment pollution, - obtaining of full-value purified brine (suspension filtration).
