Transport infrastructure projects are distinguished by their high levels of investment, lengthy construction periods, and reliance on government subsidies during operation. These factors have far-reaching impacts, not only on the sustainable operation and success of the projects themselves, but also on the orderly functioning of society and the sustainable development of the economy. As such, it is of paramount importance to thoroughly investigate the sustainable operation of transport infrastructure. This paper examines the impact of sustainable operation on transport infrastructure by analysing 30 projects in China’s transport infrastructure sector. The study employs the qualitative comparative analysis method. To achieve the aim of this paper, we identified five dimensions for assessing a project’s sustainability. These include the economic environment of the construction site, operational market demand, government support capacity, and enterprise management level. This analysis offers valuable guidance for future engineering projects. Finally, the study identified seven strategies for achieving sustainable operation of the project. The findings revealed that the economic development status, population size, and government subsidies of the construction site do not effectively promote sustainable operation of the project. Rather, they can hinder enterprises’ market competitiveness. The study’s results can assist decision-makers in determining the feasibility of implementing sustainable management practices in the new project. Examine the factors that influence the achievement of sustainable business while enhancing the operational efficiency of ongoing initiatives. This research aims to produce a valuable addition to risk assessments in sustainable operation research and the advancement of transportation infrastructure reduction.

Purpose: the purpose of this article is to examine how different factors, such as: person organization fit, supervisor support, rewards, organizational commitment and work engagement simultaneously affect the employee job satisfaction in project-based organization. Design/methodology/approach: This research applies fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fs/QCA). The sample of the study includes 17 cases of Polish consulting firms, and the fieldwork contains information from series of surveys. The survey includes five scales (person organization fit, supervisor support, rewards, organizational commitment and work engagement) in the form of statements to which respondents indicate their level of agreement/disagreement on a five-point Likert scale. Findings: empirical research indicated the configurations of factors which lead to job satisfaction in PBO, pecially, (C1): person organization fit, supervisor support and organizational commitment and (C2): rewards, organizational commitment and work engagement with absence of supervisor support and (C3): person organization fit, rewards and work engagement influence job satisfaction in project-based organization. Research limitations/implications: the first limitation relates to the data source – the data in this study come from a limited research sample-consulting firms. Second, this study considered and examined few factors of job satisfaction selected based on critical analysis of the literature and future studies could include other variables. Practical implications: the results of research have practical implications for managers of project-based organization, because they provide them with configuration of factors which lead to job satisfaction. Originality/value: using of fs/QCA, which enabled simultaneous studying the effect of selected factors and it is an original contribution to the research on job satisfaction in PBO.

This study analyzes the impact of leadership style characteristics such as idealized influence-charisma, inspirational motivation, individualized consideration, intellectual stimulation, contingent reward and management by exception on project success in project9 based organizations. This paper argues that these factors simultaneously, in different configurations, affect project success. The data for the empirical analysis come from a survey 11 of 17 cases – Polish consultancies. This study employs a configurational approach, using fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fs/QCA), to assess the different combinations of mentioned factors.

W artykule przedstawiono i przeanalizowano konfiguracje modeli biznesu powiązanych z efektywnością funkcjonowania organizacji.

The paper presents and analysis of the business model configurations associated with performance by conducting a qualitative comparative analysis of university spin-off companies. The purpose of this paper is to identify and describe business model configurations, analyze their associations with high and low firm performance, and explore the nature of these associations. The configurations comprising business models leveraging high level human resources and having a wide access to financial resources are associated with high performance was found. In addition, the extracted business models are not featured in any of the two configurations associated with low performance.

University spin-offs have idiosyncratic strengths in comparison to other new firms. However, evidence also shows that Polish university spin-offs have a low survival rate, and only a small percent of them grow into sustainable businesses. The purpose of this paper is to carry out an empirical study to determine the nature of barriers to the growth of Polish university spin-offs, in order to address the two major research questions considered by this paper: what are the major barriers to growth, and which combinations of these barriers have the greatest impact on the performance of the university spin-offs under study? Firstly, this paper attempts to explore these research questions through a literature review and pilot interviews, based on which a questionnaire was developed. Secondly, this study attempts to address the research questions through a fuzzy-set-theoretic approach by using a software package, such as fs/QCA- fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis. This paper identifies six key groups of barriers to the growth of university spin-offs in Poland, namely financial, competence, psychological, organizational, informational and formal barriers. Moreover, four alternative configurations of key groups of barriers to the growth of spin-offs that lead to low performance among the organizations examined are distinguished using fs/QCA. This problem is interesting not only from a scientific, but also a practical, point of view, pointing out the need for increased attention, not only from academic entrepreneurs themselves, but also for greater effort from universities and the government to cultivate university spin-offs. Most importantly, simultaneous action in all of these directions is necessary. The continuation of such research is also important, which will consider, on the one hand, a larger sample of firms, and, on the other hand, the results achieved so far and their re-conceptualization.

In the literature for understanding the complex nature of the organization achievements, and so broadly defined performance are carried out increasingly sophisticated research. Reached the level of performance and the possibility of survival of the organization are the result of complex interconnected systems of interdependence, which may be difficult to capture using commonly employed methods, such as regression models. This paper aims to show a new way of analyzing organizational configurations, which are constellations of different types of strategies, orientations, and market conditions leading together to achieve superior performance, through the use of configuration approach and qualitative comparative analysis.
