The product design has a significant influence on assembly processes and, thus, production costs. This paper presents an algorithm for analyzing and improving the product design. The algorithm uses the BRRR assembly model and the assembly sequence matrix for the assembly process representation. There is an opportunity for computer-aided generating these models on the basis of the products 3D model, created in the CAD system. The new computer-aided DFA tool named "DFA Expert" has been developed. The implementation of DFA Expert is based on the proposed algorithm. An example of Air Distributor redesign has been included to illustrate the application of DFA Expert.
