Content available remote The influence of metal impurities to a-C:H films

The carbon coatings on the silicon substrate by chemical vapour phase precipitation as the insertion of platinum and copper impurities were observed in this paper. It was obtained that growing films are more polymeric like. The refractive index of all films are similar and varies from 1,6 to 1,75 and does not depend on nature of metal. Analysis of Raman spectra showed that typical for amorphous carbon G peaks become dominant and move to the lower means (from 1682 cm-¹ to approximately 1553 cm-1) and then metal impurities were introduced to the film. Also a new peak at about 1800 cm-¹ was obtained there. Typical D peak in films with platinum impurities is less intensive and disappears when Cu impurities are involved in film.

Analizowano powłokę węglową na podłożu krzemowym poprzez chemiczne rozpuszczanie domieszek platyny i miedzi. Stwierdzono że współczynnik odbicia warstw był podobny dla wszystkich warstw i wynosił 1,6 do 1,75 niezależnie od domieszek. Spektralna analiza Ramanowska wykazała dominujące i zmniejszała się do ok 1553 cm-¹ przy wprowadzaniu domieszek

The main aim of presented work was the commencing the tests and analysis of the DLC type a:C:H coatings obtained with PACVD technique on the elements from Co-Cr-Mo alloys., among others: monitoring of structure changes, hardness measurement, estimation of the surface geometrical structure and tribologic tests. The analysis of surface structure and its elementary composition were estimated with the application of scanning SEM microscope, as well as TEM transmission microscope. The hardness of the elements with and without the coating was measured with the Matsuzawa micro hardness testing tester. Tribologic test of materials wear resistance was done with using T-01M apparatus ball-on-disc type, within a set of Al2O3 ball - disk from Co-Cr-Mo alloys with DLC coating, in technologically dry friction condition as well as with Ringer solution lubrication. Friction tests were conducted with using tester T-17, working in association: polymer pin made of high-molecular polyethylene PE - UHMW - plate from Co-Cr-Mo alloys with DLC coating with Ringer solution lubrication. The results obtained during mentioned above tests showed that the application of DLC coatings greatly enhances the operating features of the coated surfaces.

Warstwy diamentopodobne osadzano na powierzchni stali austenitycznej 316L na układzie lasera ekscymerowego typu ArF (λ = 193 nm). Proces wytwarzania warstwy azotowanej oraz warstw z węgla amorficznego następował dwuetapowo w jednej komorze eksperymentalnej. Przeprowadzone badania miały na celu osadzenie warstw diamentopodobnych z możliwie dużą zawartością fazy sp3. Określenie struktury fazowej osadzonych warstw wykonano za pomocą spektrometru fourierowskiego w podczerwieni (FTIR), a struktura powierzchniowa została zwizualizowana na mikroskopie sił atomowych (AFM).

The amorphous carbon films were deposited onto 316L stainless steel by using the laser excimer (λ = 193 nm). Deposition of nitrided layers and amorphous carbon films was executed in two stages in one experimental chamber. The aim of the experimental investigations was to obtain diamond like carbon films with a high quantity of sp3 phase. Phase analysis of deposited films was made by using a Fourier transform infrared spectrosmetry (FTIR). The surface topography was investigated and vizualized by atomic force microscopy (AFM).
