An action of alternate electromagnetic field results in formation of alternate characteristics of sludge dewatering with respect to exposition time. While applying exclusively alternate electromagnetic field as a method of sludge conditioning, an attention should be paid to the kind and characteristics of sludge subjected to exposition in this field. From the physical point of view, application of electromagnetic field is more effective when the material subjected to exposition is characterized by the features brought near to ferromagnetic substances. The dose applied and kind of polyelectrolyte are still the factor deciding about dewatering effect, however, less significant role plays energy of alternate electromagnetic field. The higher is ionic activity of polyelectrolytes, the more difficult is to foresee the parameter changes during combined action of electromagnetic field. Moreover, changes of values at successive exposition times will be characterized by high dynamics. Higher effectiveness of sludge conditioning by alternate electromagnetic field and reagent Praestol 854B was obtained by applying lower dose of polyelectrolyte. In this case, each exposition time caused an improvement of final watering value in contradiction to optimum dose where the significant improvement of conditioning effect was not seen.
