In the paper the approximate solution of ID macrosegregation problem basing on the assumption of parabolic distribution of alloy component in the boundary layer close to the liquid-solid interface is presented. The approach discussed constitutes the new version of the solution in which the temporary course of alloy component concentration is assumed a'priori in the form of a certain function with unknown parameters (see: broken line model [1,2, 3]). In the final part of the paper the example of computations is presented.
