The basis of the Kuipers' method, widely known as the qualitative simulation, have been presented. There is one from some another methods for describing the behavior of a dynamical system and leads to a tree of alternating time-interval and time-point system states. The integral element of the qualitative simulation is the QSIM algorithm and its block diagram in a general form has been shown in the paper.

The second part of the article: Qualitative models. QSIM simulation algorithm is presented. Some calculations have been done by QSIM algorithm and obtained results are discussed in the paper.
