W celu pomocy osobom niewidomym opracowano urządzenie mające za zadanie usprawnić proces nauki alfabetu Braille’a. Zastosowany został mechanizm wykorzystujący mikro serwomechanizmy, kontrolowany za pomocą aplikacji mobilnej łączącej się z urządzeniem za pomocą komunikacji bezprzewodowej. Zaprojektowane urządzenie jest częścią współpracy ze Specjalnym Ośrodkiem Szkolno-Wychowawczym w Dąbrowie Górniczej.

The device was developed in order to help the blind and visually impaired people and make the process of learning the Braille alphabet easier for them. The mechanism used in the device consists of micro servomechanisms controlled by a mobile application through wireless communication. Creation of the device is part of the cooperation with the SOSW in Dąbrowa Górnicza.

Artykuł prezentuje badania zależności wysokości elementów alfabetu Braille’a na tekturze Chromolux od parametrów technologicznych oraz wartości nacisku. W celu wyjaśnienia analitycznych współzależności pomiędzy naciskiem (p) i parametrami procesu (h, ms), dokonano przekształcenia nierównych przedziałów h i ms na równe, tj. Spełniające zależności Δh= const, Δms= const. W opisywanym przypadku do wyznaczenia nieliniowych i liniowych zależności w postaci p = p(ms), p = p(h) użyto interpolacji oraz metody najmniejszych kwadratów.

The paper presents studies pertaining to the quality of embossed characters of the Braille alphabet used, among other applications, for tagging drug labels. The following parameters of embossed inscriptions were measured: height, diameter of the dots and surface roughness (18 samples with various combinations of their values). 48 blind individuals assessed the quality of the printed text. Statistical analysis proved that a text with dots having height of 0.9 millimeter, diameter of 1.6 millimeters and roughness Ra of about 1 micrometer to be the best. The samples had been made using two different methods of rapid prototyping: PolyJet and SLS. 3D printing is increasingly popular and the studies proved the usefulness of these methods for labeling with embossed inscriptions, due to the repeatability, durability and quality they ensure. The assessing group of blind individuals was comprised of 24 persons 14–17 years old and other 24 persons aged over 60 who were not proficient in reading Braille alphabet, This allows to conclude that a text featuring the above values of the parameters will be easy to read for the majority of blind persons.

The progress in modern technologies in the area of information and communication has an influence on institutions and individuals. At schools, informatics may be helpful to blind children in the form of numerous teaching aids. For blind children, the computer is an excellent didactic aid which stimulates their development. Computer programs create a natural potential for individualization of the learning process, diversified depending on the child's predispositions and degree of development, and the type and degree of sight damage.

Postęp nowoczesnych technologii w obszarze informatyki i komunikacji ma wpływ na instytucje i jednostki. W szkole informatyka może być pomocna niewidomym dzieciom poprzez różnego rodzaju środki dydaktyczne. Dla niewidomych dzieci komputer jest doskonałym środkiem dydaktycznym, który stymuluje ich rozwój. Programy komputerowe tworzą naturalne możliwości dla indywidualizacji procesu nauczania, dostosowują zakres do poziomu rozwoju dziecka i stopnia utraty wzroku.
