W artykule analizowana jest struktura potencjalnego układu diagnostycznego bazującego na koncepcji Inteligentnego Narzędzia (IN). Przedstawiono próbę praktycznej realizacji wybranych modułów IN opartą na wykorzystaniu komputera klasy PC z zainstalowaną kartą przetwornika analogowo-cyfrowego. Scharakteryzowano implementację procedur akwizycji i przetwarzania wstępnego sygnałów pomiarowych w środowisku programistycznym DELPHI.

The paper deals with selected problems related to a practical implementation of so called Intelligent Tool. The Intelligent Tool is a software-hardware system acting in a certain environment (machine tool, workpiece), which can automatically assess its current condition, predict its condition in near future and assess the state of other phenomena via combination of the information on its condition with other information available in the considered environment. The implementation of the Intelligent Tool starts with selection of a certain tool. This causes sending appropriate information from the DataBase to the Information Bank and the Execution Block. It means that specific for this tool sensory data and cutting parameters are available in the Information Bank, first of all. Also, the intelligent procedures dedicated to this tool are activated in the Execution Block and the procedures are equipped with adequate parameters. The description presented in the paper focuses on data acquisition and preliminary measured signal processing. Also, extraction of the signal features is characterized and an assumed idea of communication between software modules is discussed.
