Aktywa obrotowe i procesy logistyczne przedsiębiorstw w latach 2019–2022 – podstawowe zjawiska i tendencje

Artykuł zawiera prezentację istotnego problemu zmian w dynamice i strukturze aktywów obrotowych, a także procesów logistycznych. Zostały one wywołane dwoma zdarzeniami o charakterze globalnym: epidemią COVID-19 i agresją Rosji na Ukrainę. W treści przedstawiono zmiany wielkości, dynamiki i struktury aktywów obrotowych w latach 2019–2022 (do 30 września 2022 r.). W tym okresie aktywa obrotowe zwiększyły się o 700 mld zł, tj. o 64% i na 30 września 2022 r. wynosiły 1 780 mld zł. Zmieniła się struktura aktywów, wzrosły zwłaszcza zapasy, a ich struktura wskazuje wyraźnie na zmiany celów działalności przedsiębiorstw na krótkoterminowe. Nastąpiły zmiany w procesach logistycznych. Zakłócenia dostaw były impulsem do wzrostu zapasów, zwłaszcza materiałowych. Wzrósł potencjał magazynowy. Firmy, w tym logistyczne, dysponują ok. 24 mln m2 powierzchni magazynowej i rocznie przybywa jej ok. 2 mln m2. Dynamicznie rozwija się także handel e-commerce, co zmienia również funkcjonowanie transportu oraz sieci magazynowej. Tekst dokumentuje wymienione w skrócie zjawiska i procesy.

The article contains a presentation of a significant issue, namely the changes in the structure and rate of change of current assets, as well as logistics processes. They were caused by two global events: COVID-19 pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In the article, the development of rate of current assets' change and their structure in the Polish enterprises in the period between January 2019 and September 2022 were presented. Within this timeframe, current assets have increased by over PLN 700 billion (increase of 64%) and they amounted to PLN 1.8 trillion as at 30 September 2022. The structure of current assets has changed – a significant increase of inventory was observed, and its structure clearly indicates a change in enterprises' goals to short-term. Changes in the logistics processes have transpired. Disruptions in supply were an impulse to increase inventory, especially that of material stock. Storage potential has increased – enterprises, including those from the logistics sector, dispose of ca. 24 million of sq. meters of warehouse space, with an annual increase of ca. 2 million sq. meters. A dynamic growth of e-commerce sector has been observed, what also contributes to changes in the functioning of transportation and storage industries.

Statistical data on the values of financial indicators in individual fields in the Czech Republic are provided by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Updated values are issued quarterly. However, within the statistical samples, there are on average 34 companies focusing on construction. Moreover, no document specifies the size of the companies. Although the scientific literature provides basic financial rules, this research has confirmed that companies of different sizes show different values of financial indicators. For this reason, one of the aims of the research described in the article was to verify the hypothesis that companies of different sizes have different approaches to financial management and the other aims was to focus on correlating data on key financial indicators of individual sizes of companies with statistics provided by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Basic methods of financial analysis (vertical analysis), selected ratios and basic statistical methods, which include correlation analysis, were used. The analysis was performed on 30 samples of construction companies, which were divided by size into small, medium and large. The outputs of the research will be further used for the follow up research.

Artykuł przedstawia podstawowe dane charakteryzujące aktywa obrotowe przedsiębiorstw, ich wartość, strukturę i dynamikę zmian. Wskazano także na związek oraz wzajemne uwarunkowania aktywów obrotowych i funkcjonowanie procesów logistycznych. Aktywa obrotowe przedsiębiorstw średnich i dużych na koniec 2018 r. przekroczyły wartość 1 bln zł i stanowią 40% całości majątku przedsiębiorstw. W okresie ostatnich 3 lat wysokie tempo wzrostu tych aktywów spowodowało obniżenie ich produktywności, pogorszenie efektywności funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw. Przyrost zapasów angażował blisko 30% całego przyrostu PKB. W tekście wskazano na związek funkcjonowania procesów logistycznych z poziomem i strukturą aktywów, a także płynnością finansową, aczkolwiek pomiar ilościowy wpływu tych procesów jest bardzo trudny, może być zrealizowany w konkretnym przedsiębiorstwie.

The text presents basic data that characterises current assets of enterprises, their value, structure and change dynamics. Mutual links between current assets and Logistics processes were also pointed out. Current assets of medium and large enterprises exceeded 1 trillion PLN at the end of 2018 and amounted to 40% of companies' total assets. Over the last 3 years, high increase of those assets caused the deterioration of productivity and effectiveness of enterprises. Increase in the value of inventories generated almost 30% of the increase in the GDP. The relationship between the functioning of logistics processes and the level and structure of assets, as well as financial liquidity, was pointed out. However, quantitative measurement of the influence of those processes is very challenging and hence only possible in case of individual enterprises.
