Modern technologies make it possible to obtain a lot of diverse information about the soil properties using satellite images, but field studies are also required to create or refine digital soil maps. To create a digital soil map scaled 1:25 000 in 2016, a classical field study was conducted with the laying of soil sections in places with the same coordinates as in the mapping of 1982. It allowed to carry out retrospective monitoring of transformation of morphogenetic and agrochemical properties of soils of the southern forest-steppe of the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) for the 34-year period of farm use. Thus, the correction and digitization of the soil map allowed to establish that arable land occupies 69.792 ha (67.9%) in the structure of agricultural land (102 811 ha). The monitoring showed deterioration of the main characteristics of arable soil fertility: the diminishing of humus-accumulative horizons, significant decrease of humus content (p ≤ 0.05), a small but reliable acidification of the medium reaction and reducing labile phosphorus. Losses of organic matter occurred mainly in the most fertile soils; their proportion decreased from 55.9% of the total area of agricultural land to 12.4%.

W pracy opisano warunki glebowe w zlewni rzeki Zwoleński. Analizy dokonano w oparciu o zasoby informacji o glebach zgromadzone w IUNG-PIB w Puławach oraz badania agrochemiczne gleb reprezentatywnych dla danego obszaru. W zlewni Zwoleńki dominują gleby bielicowe i płowe o składzie granulometrycznym gleb lekkich. Zawartość próchnicy najczęściej waha się w przedziale 1,0-2,0%. Gleby wykazują w większości odczyn bardzo kwaśny lub kwaśny oraz niską i bardzo niską zawartość fosforu i potasu. Warunki glebowe dla produkcji rolniczej w badanej zlewni są słabe, pomimo tego dominują tu grunty orne. Na najsłabszych glebach powinna nastąpić zmiana sposobu użytkowania.

In the paper soil conditions in Zwoleńka river watershed were described. The analyses were performed on the basis of information collected by IUNG-PIB Puławy and results of agrochemical analysis of the soils representative for the given area. In Zwoleńka river watershed dominate light textured podsolic soils. The content of organic matter hesitates in the range of 1,0-2,0 %. In the majority soils show very acid or acid reaction and low or very low content of available phosphorus and potassium. Soil conditions for the agricultural production in studied watershed are weak, nevertheless arable soils predominate in this area. The way of of the weakest soils should be changed in the nearest future.

W pracy dokonano oceny rolniczej wartości gleb w zlewni rzeki Zagożdżonki. Podstawą analizy były zasoby informacji o glebach zgromadzone w IUNG-PIB w Puławach oraz badania zasobności i odczynu reprezentatywnych dla tego terenu gleb. Badany obszar zlewni Zagożdżonki charakteryzuje się słabymi glebami piaszczystymi o małej zawartości substancji organicznej. W większości są to gleby bardzo lekki i lekkie, o niskiej lub bardzo niskiej zawartości składników pokarmowych. Generalnie są to gleby o małej wartości dla produkcji rolniczej. Najsłabsze z nich powinny być przeznaczone do zalesienia.

The paper presents soil conditions for agricultural production in Zagożdżonka River watershed. The soil cover is formed mainly by podzolic and leached brown soils. They are counted among light and very light textured soils. The content of organic matter and the content of macronutrients available for plants is low or very low. Soil suitability for agriculture production is generally week.
